FORWARD

I am privileged to be associated with the PKG and delighted to see the advancement it has made since it was launched in less than a year. The growth of its membership has well surpassed some re-nowned photographic institutions.

PKG has successfully achieved its aim to provide a platform for its members to showcase their works. With dedication of the Admin Team to ensure compliance and to weed out undesirable contents posted in its platform, it has attracted more and a higher standard of contributions by its members. Membership is a privilege.

No matter how good the images are in Facebook, they will just be-come a memory of the past when they are deleted by Facebook. Through the great initiative of its founder, Mr. Alex Lim, we now have a means to archive the best, among the best, through the creation of the PK Magazine. I applaud Mr. Alex Lim for his initiative............the first of its kind.

PKG members can rightly take pride to see their works and contribu-tions in the debut edition of PKG Magazine. Let’s congratulate PKG for releasing the debut edition of PK Magazine in good time. With in-put from members, we can expect improvements as PKG believes that the “best is yet to be”.

I encourage members to contribute to the PKG platform regularly, to share their works so that we will continue to learn from one another. Good things last longer when shared, more so when their works are published in the PK Magazine.

The debut edition of PK Magazine is a bold attempt. It augurs well for successive editions ahead provided it continues to receive help and contributions from its members.

An appreciative and proud member of PKG

J. W. William Teo.

J. W. (William) Teo has always been passionate about photography, but he could not truly pursue his passion until he retired from the corporate world (Singapore and USA).  In 2007, William became the organizing Chairman of the 54th Singapore International Photography Awards organized by The Photographic Society of Singapore. In 2009, William was awarded an Associate of The Photographic Society of Singapore (APSS).  He was one of its former Honorary Secretary. As a grassroots leader and the Chairman of Photography@Serangoon (Interest Group) at The Serangoon Community Club, he was awarded The Serangoon Distinguished Commu-nity Service Award in 2010. William has also served for 3 years as an Advisor at a school’s photographic competitions. As a People’s Association Certified Trainer in photography, William teaches photography when he isn’t pursuing his other passion – Chinese Opera Photography Performing Arts – an art form he has been promoting since his first shot of Ms. Chor Wan Yuk in “Drunken Princes” in 2008.
