Hi Catherine, I see you rushing around thehospital but I am not sure what anoccupational therapist does?Occupational therapists help childrenparticipate and be as independent aspossible in everyday activities such asgetting dressed, going to school andplaying.
I hear that you have a fancy new light andsound thing which helps children with theirmovements but what is it?“The Secret Garden” is a large screenimage that is projected onto our wall inoccupational therapy and when youmove; when you do your exercises thendifferent things will happen on thescreen. You can make music too. Thereare lots of different activities in thegarden from “fireflies” to “bug huts”. It isgoing to make therapy sessions evenmore fun.
Gosh that sounds great can bears use it?!Of course they can PJ. Anyone can use it,even if they have very little movement. Itis very visual and difficult to describe inwords so come and try it out for yourself.
I saw that there is a bee on the screen which Iloved chasing after. I love honey but what isyour favourite food?I love all kinds of fruit but my favourite isstrawberries. When I am being very
naughty I am also partial to a littlechocolate!
What is your favourite joke?“Doctor, Doctor I keep on thinking I’m abridge”“Oh really. What’s come over you” ?“So far a bus,… a motorcycle and a bike!”
What superpower would you like to have?If I could have any superpower I think itwould have to be the power to makewishes come true.......I’ve always wantedto be a fairy godmother!

hydrocephalus and visits the Hospital often. She decided to
take on a Triple Challenge. First it was the1.5K Junior Race at
the Edinburgh Marathon, then her and her mum did the 3mile
Challenge Walk and finally the 5K Big Fun Run. Amy had to do
so much training to get her legs strong enough and through
her phenomenal hard work and fundraising she has raised an
amazing £4,200. Go girl!• Bruce McKerracher from Selkirk High School, Jack Houston ex-
pupil from the school and Michael Bunyan presented a

Our writer in residence Linda Cracknell has written a lovely poem about Easter at the Sick Kidsand Cate James our illustrator in residence has been inspired to draw about Easter.
Maybe it will inspire you to do a poem about Chocolate?
EASTER AT SCIENNES
Birds fly in, bringing flowers up Rillbank Terrace, over the Hospital’s towers:pigeons with claws full of daffodils, andprimroses clamped in seagulls’ bills.
They find nooks and cracks to plant and fillon the Sick Kids Hospital’s window-sillsso posies brighten all five floors alongside cherry blossom at the school next door.
The Lion and Unicorn on the Royal Crestjump into the car park after a century or so’s rest. They whinny and roar and stretch their legs, prowling and prancing after Easter eggs.
Mangoes and melons roll down Argyle Place neck and neck to the Meadows in a race with brightly-painted eggs set free down Sylvan Place from A & E.
Boys and girls laugh from their bedsat birds’ nests balancing on nurses’ heads,meal-trolley wheels made of hot-cross-buns, and bunnies bursting from the hats of their mums.
Down in the cellars chicks are cheepingwhile up in the Loft, PJ Bear’s sleeping,well-fed like the children after chocolate-eating.And clown doctors leap their Easter greetings.
