Calendar of Class Dates:
After School Course Descriptions Basketball– On the Court X-perience:
This co-ed basketball clinic is perfect to get a child up and moving at the end of the school day. Each session includes skill instruction, exciting competitions and a full court basketball scrimmage. Players will improve their individual skills such as passing, dribbling, shooting and rebounding while learning how to work within the framework of a team. Each player will receive a t-shirt
and prizes are awarded during the final session.
Young Rembrandts– Drawing:
Start by igniting your preschooler’s imagination as
they draw our attention-grabbing lessons focused on
mastering basic skills like circles and patterning. In
January a drawing of a mouthwatering pizza and
an endearing duck will bring out the artistic skills and
advanced creativity. February lessons bring out the
adventurer in Young Rembrandts students as we
complete an adorable puppy, silly parrot and a
very cool pirate ship!
Black Rocket Design A Mario Kart® Style Game:
On your marks, get set, create! Blast off in making your first
3D Mario Kart® and Crash Team Racing® style game!
Design your own tracks and customize your karts and
characters. Using a professional 3D game development
software, students will combine their creations into their own
kart racing game that they can play with friends and family
at home. Students can participate in eSports League races
against other schools across the country with a chance to have
their tracks featured in the Black Rocket master build of the
game! Student projects will be available on a password
protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and
family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the
program.
Black Rocket JavaScript Developer Jam:
Learn programming tools so powerful they seem like
magic! Start off by learning an array of core
programming concepts with JavaScript by
experimenting in a series of digital challenges. Start
with programming your first animated memes, then
tackle more advanced skills such as interactive 3D
experiences and game creation. Projects will be
available on a password protected Black Rocket
website to share with friends and family. Students will
work in pairs or teams for most of the program.
Black Rocket Minecraft® Redstone Engineers:
Take the next step beyond simply “playing”
Minecraft and become a true Redstone engineer.
Expand your Redstone knowledge by constructing
your own carnival with a variety of mini-games,
roller coasters, and attractions powered by
Redstone. Learn how to use Command and Structure
blocks to incorporate them into your builds. Activate
your skills and take your Minecraft structures to the
next level! Students must own a Java version of
Minecraft to access their projects at home. Tablet,
phone, and game console versions of Minecraft are
not compatible. Students will work in pairs or teams
for most of the program.
Code Ninjas Game Builders Club:
Code Ninjas is excited to launch 8 weeks of Game Builders
Club. In this Club, student ninjas will build their very own
video game each session, and have a blast every step of the
way! Games are made in Scratch, a kid-friendly, visual
programming language. This class is fantastic for children of
all experience levels to flex their creative muscles and
strengthen their problem-solving skills, all while having a
great time.
Code Ninjas STEM Club:
Code Ninjas will provide fun and engaging activities including
introduction to Coding, Snap Circuits and Beginner Robotics!
Your child will learn entry level coding, will have hands on
introduction to electronics by emerging themselves in
electronics and problem solving with Code Ninjas themed
snap circuits. In the final weeks of the program your kids will
learn beginner’s robotics.
Harry Potter Exploration:
Be sorted into your Hogwarts house, discover the
magic of owning your own wand, and uncover the
secrets of the world of Harry Potter in this
intriguing after school program. We will cover
Ron's famous chess match and so much more! If
the Harry Potter series interests you, then this class
might be for you! We will discover a little magic from
each of the books and allow our imaginations to go
wild!
STEM:
Build confidence in every child through a “Yes, I can do
it!” hands-on and interactive approach to learning.
Using the four pillars of learning (Science, Technology,
Engineering and Mathematics) along with arts all
students will build and nurture their creative minds
through team work and project-based learning.
KidzArt:
KidzArt is a fun and unique art experience. Today's
world requires creative thinking skills. KidzArt
encourages problem solving, creative thinking and
self-confidence using our exclusive methods for
teaching drawing. KidzArt curriculum meets or
exceeds the National Standards for Art Education.
Students will learn to use mediums such as charcoal,
watercolor, chalk pastel, oil pastel and marker and
complete a finished piece in each class. Help your
children face the future with a creative mind!
Tennis:
Participants will learn tennis basics, refine strokes,
and gain self-confidence through competitive play.
POUNDFITNESS:
By combining exercise and interactive activities, kids
will learn new ways to explore movement, embrace
their creativity and ROCK OUT—ultimately building
strength, confidence and self-awareness.
