STORAGE AND HANDLING OF VALVES On receipt check hat the valve is in fully assembled and in tact, The valve should be in openpositionto protectthe ball surface rom any inadvertenthandling damage. Prior to shipment from the factory end protectors ar e o the inlet and outlet of each valve, for protection rom mechanical damage andforprevention of the intrusion of dust and any other foreign objects into the valve bore, during transit. Thesevalve en d protectors should be kept intact and be remove d only at the time of installation. Valve shouldbe stored n a coveredarea,which is dust- free, easthumidandwell ventilatedplace. lwayscare shall be exercised ot to damage he extended ortion of stem housing, gear units/actuators, which are very vulnerable to damage due to wrong or careless handling.Placingvalvesdirectlyon the groundor on the concrete floor is not recommended.Under no circumstances hould he valve be stored outdoors. The valve should be kept on a woodenpallet at least6 above th e ground level. Always AIL Ball Valvesareshippedwithballs n fully open position for protection o f surfaces. Valve should always be left open during the storageperiod.
