Adapter Locking Systems

Flex Pin:

This flex pin is used to secure Hensley C-19 andC-29 stake type adapters to the lip. The pin isdesigned to stay flush with the top and bottom ofthe lip without having to bend tabs or constantlymaintain a two piece spool and wedge assembly.

Wedge Key:

This one-piece locking device is used to attachstake type adapters to the bucket lip. After theadapter is installed, the tab portion of the key isbent over to lock the adapter securely in place.

C-Clamp and Wedge:

These positive locking fasteners are used to attachadapters to zipper style lips. The C-Clamp installsfirst, wrapping around the adapter "legs" for a securefit. The wedge is then driven in to lock the assemblysecurely onto the lip.

in direction of arrow. Install with a soft-faced hammer. (Note: Whenyou begin installation, be sure the word "TOP" on the

wedge is protruding from the top).

wedge is tight. It is common for the tip of the wedgeto protrude slightly (1" or less) on newer noses.

The wedge should install flushon older worn noses.

Insert Bolt. Insert common 5/16"x4-1/2" hex head bolt into hole in thebottom (see Fig. A). Hammer bolt in between the spool & wedge to

separate serrated edges. (Note: bolt diameter of 5/16" iscrucial for disengaging serrated edges of spool

and wedge.)

3Remove Wedge. With bolt hammered in as faras it will go, hold a removal tool to the bottom

of the wedge, and hammer from the bottom untilthe wedge is removed.
