Tuesday, October 6 - Depart U.S. for an overnight flight to Venice. Dinner and breakfast are served aboard.D (dinner) & B (breakfast) In flight

Wednesday, October 7 - We arrive in at the Venice airport, and drive a short distance west to Padua. After check-in atour hotel, we will visit the Basilica of St. Anthony, where we will see and venerate the relics ofthis holy man. St. Anthony was a Franciscan priest and close associate of St. Francis of Assisi.He was known for his love of the poor and his preaching, which led to countless conversions. Wewill celebrate our MASS in the BASILICA OF ST. ANTHONY. Then we have dinner together atour hotel. D Padua

Thursday, October 8 - Today we take a short excursion to Venice, the "Queen of the Adriatic."This famed city is built on over 100 islets, supported by millions of wooden stakes and linked by400 bridges. Our walking tour will include the Doges Palace, official palace of the Doge (ruler)and formerly the seat of government. We will actually havethe chance to walk across the Bridge of Sighs (the coveredwindowed bridge) where convicted prisoners caught their

last glimpse offreedom. We will visit the Cathedral of St. Mark, so masterfullydecorated with reI igious mosaics. A demonstration of glass blowing will concludeour tour. Afterwards you may wish to spend some time shopping. Late afternoonwe celebrate our MASS in a Chapel of the CATHEDRAL OF ST. MARK. Wehave dinner together in Venice and then return to our hotel. B & D Padua

Friday, October 9 - We drive south to reach Florence, flourishing center of theRenaissance and Med ieval center of Europe's trade and finance. Late morn ing wearrive in the heart of the city and celebrate MASS in the CHURCH OF SANTA MARIA NOVELLA. There will be timefor lunch on our own. Then we enjoy a walking tour of Florence, Art Capital of the World. We will see the famed Statue

of David by Michelangelo, and then at the Cathedral we view another work ofMichelangelo, the Baptistry Doors of religious scenes in bronze, called the"Gates of Paradise." We pass through the Piazza delia Signoria, and concludeour tour within Santa Croce Church, which contains tombs of many famousartists and leaders of Florence. After having a panoramic view of Florence fromPiazzale Michelangelo, we drive to the south, reaching Siena to check in to ourhotel and have dinner together at a restaurant nearby. B & D Siena

Saturday, October 10 - Our morning excursion willbe to a Tuscan winery for the opportunity to sample a

selection of the local wines in one of the Chianti regions that have made Tuscany so well known.During our visit we learn about the art of winema king and the process of making Italian olive oil.Plenty of delicious snacks will also be served. We return to Siena to be guided on a walking tour.We will view the spectacular Piazza del Campo in the heart of the town, where a biannual horserace, the Palio di Siena, is conducted with ten horses and riders in full medieval regalia representingtheir respective city districts. Our tour through the town concludes at the impressive Gothic styleCathedral of Siena, dedicated to the Assumption of Mary. The Cathedral features the iconic useof dark and light marble and contains exquisite inlaid marble floor. Late this afternoon we arriveat the Church of St. Dominic and celebrate HOLY MASS near the RELICS OF ST. CATHERINE.

One of Siena's most famous inhabitants, St. Catherine, was a member of the Third Order of the Dominicans, and becameone of the most influential women in Church history. In 1377 she prevailed upon Pope Gregory XI to return to Rome fromAvignon, France. We again sample the cuisine of Siena at another restaurant close to our hotel. B & D Siena

Sunday, October 11 - We journey south to Rome, stopping at a very meaningfulchurch in the charm ing lakeside town of Bolsena. It was in 1263 that a priestfrom Prague was on pilgrimage to Rome. At the center of his purpose in makingthe pilgrimage was the struggle in Faith he was having with severe doubts in theReal Presence of Jesus in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. It was at Masswhich he celebrated in the Church of St. Christina in Bolsena that immediatelyafter the Consecration the Host began to bleed on the Corporal and onto the altar.This was immediately reported to the Bishop of Bolsena, who in turn carried theblood-stained Corporal to the nearby city of Orvieto, where the Pope, Urban IV,saw and believed and proclaimed it a true miracle. That Corporal is still displayedin the Cathedral ofOrvieto today, and was the basis for the Holy Father to institutethe Feast of Corpus Christi. When we arrive late morning we will go and celebrate

HOLY MASS in the CHURCH OF ST. CHRISTINA. On this Autumn day it will bepleasant for us to pause for lunch on our own and to enjoy the scenic ambience of LakeBolsena. We continue on to Rome, the Eternal City, where we check in at our hoteland have dinner together. B & D Rome

Monday, October 12 - This morning we enter the magnificent Basilica of St. Peter.As we walk through and pray, our thoughts are flooded with the events that have takenplace here and the people who have worshiped in this great Center of the Church. Wecelebrate HOLY MASS in the BASILICA OF ST. PETER near the Tomb of the firstPope. After Mass our guided tour takes us to the Vatican Museum filled with so

many awesome treasures. Our tour includes the glorious Sistine Chapel, and will conclude within the Basilica itself. Wehave some free time in the area around the Vatican and time for lunch on our own. Afternoon: This afternoon is free forexploring on our own or for shopping. Some may want to make the ascent to the top of the dome of the Basilica of St.Peter. The expansive vista of Rome is magnificent, as well as the view of the Vatican Gardens below. Others may findthat by shopping in stores near St. Peter's they can find plenty of religiousarticles to be blessed by the Holy Father at Wednesday's Audience. At anappointed time and place our bus will transport us back to the hotel. Therewe have dinner together. B & D Rome

Tuesday, October 13 - This morning we journey south from Rome drivingon the main highway called Autostrada del Sole (Highway of the Sun). Westop at the Benedictine Abbey of Monte cassino, completely rebuilt after the2nd World War. There in the Abbey Church we celebrate HOLY MASS atthe TOMBS OF ST. BENEDICT and his sister ST. SCHOLASTICA. Alongthe way driving south we stop for lunch on our own. Our next destinationis Pompeii, where we have a guided tour through the excavations of this famous Roman city, which was completelydestroyed by the volcanic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Our return drive to Rome we stop in the Alban Hills at

a town named Frascati. There we are treated to a delicious dinner in atown that was a favorite of Roman nobility, when in ancient times theyescaped to these hills from the heat of a Roman summer. We return toour hotel late evening. B & D Rome

Wednesday, October 14 - This morning is the Highlight of our Pilgrimagein Rome - a PAPAL AUDIENCE in St. Peter's Sq uare with His HolinessPope Francis. After the Audience and a break for lunch, we drive intothe heart of Rome to the Basilica of St. Mary Major, the world's mostillustrious church dedicated to Our Blessed Mother. In the Confessiobeneath the high altar we can venerate the relics of the Crib that held

the Infant Jesus. We see an ornate ceiling comprised of gold from the new world as well as a striking mosaic apse. In abeautiful side chapel of the Basilica we celebrate HOLY MASS. After Mass our bus takes us within walking distance ofa favorite Roman gathering place, the Trevi Fountain. A few blocks further we reach the Spanish Square, where wesee the beautiful Spanish Stairs leading up to Holy Trinity Church. Our bus carries us back to the hotel where we dinetogether. B & D Rome

Thursday, October 15 - Our HOLY MASS this morning will be in the Jesuits' Gesu Church, where the founder ofthe Jesuit Order, St. Ignatius of Loyola, is buried. After Mass a tour guide joins us for a walking tour of popular sightsin Old Rome. First we learn about the Gesu Church, where we have just celebrated Mass. A short walk takes us to thebeautifully decorated Santa Maria Sopra Minerva Church. Inside are entombed St. Catherine of Siena as well as the greatrenaissance painter Fra Angelico. Adjacent to the church is the ancient Pantheon. Next we walk to another church, St.Louis of France, which contains 3 masterpiece paintings by Caravaggio, depictingscenes in the life of the Apostle St. Matthew. One more block away we enter the verypopular Piazza Navona, in the center of which is the Fountain of the Four Riversin front of the Church of St. Agnes. At the end of our tour some may want to stayfor further exploration or for an opportunity to do some last minute shopping. Forthose who want to return to our hotel, our bus will transport them back to the hotel.This evening we go out together for a Farewell to Rome Dinner, enjoying food andwine at a restaurant near our hotel. Friday, October 16 - We check out of our hotel and transfer to the Rome airport forour return flights to the U.S., arriving this same day to our home city.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONSRESERVATIONS AND PAYMENT: Travel Tyme requires adeposit of $400 per person that is to be sent with the applicationat the time of booking. This deposit forms a part of your finalpayment, which must be received by us no later than 65 daysprior to departure. Seats are limited on this Pilgrimage, so wesuggest an early booking.

CANCELLATIONS: Please make all cancellations in writing.The following cancellation charges apply: If cancelled 120 daysor more prior to departure, a $75 administration fee is charged.If cancelled 119-61 days prior, $300 penalty will be charged. Ifcancelled 60-31 days prior, a $600 penalty will be charged. Ifcancelled 30 days or less, the total amount of the trip will beforfeited. In addition, once the airline tickets are issued, about40 days prior to departure, the cost is non-refundable (approx-imately $1434).

TRAVEL INSURANCE: We strongly recommend the pur-chase of travel insurance to recuperate the penalties charged forcancellation for health reasons. You would be fully covered,except ifpre-existing conditions are evident. Even so, the insurerwaives the exclusion for pre-existing conditions, if insurance ispurchased within 15 days of deposit received by Travel Tyme.

PASSPORT AND VISA: For travel to Italy a valid passportis required for all U.S. citizens. For those holding passports ofother countries, visas may be required. Please check with TravelTymefor further information.
