Create a chatterbox with coloured dotsthat need to be pressed to be opened andgive instruction of actions to follow onopening (fun activity to work on verbsand following directions).

Create patterns using coloured dots. Try 2 and 3 colourcombinations then try large and small dot patterns.

Get students to create their own page with dots andan instruction. They can do this in pairs to havematching dot instructions. Compile the class' pages tocreate their own "Press Here" book.

A hilarious rhyming bookwith the ridiculous

concept that an animalcan only sit on something

that rhymes with itsname!

they are all great!

Oi FROG!

Get children to match the animal with the objectthey could sit on using the ideas from the book.

Come up with new animals and objects to match withtheir name. They could even write and illustrate a pageand combine as a class to create a new book with theirrhyming matches.

Create your own rhyming poetry with the format of{Animal} [verb] |preposition| (rhyming noun). Eg.Cows sleep on ploughs.

Practise classification with the animals in the bookand sort using habitat, class or food they eat.

An engaging, interactivecounting book with fun

illustrations.

Count the Monkeys

Add up all the characters in the book. Students can act itout, use counters or draw on the board as a class. Then ifyou have time, draw in their books with the matchingnumeral.

Make a mini counting book. Get students to fold asheet of A4 paper into 8 segments. Cut and thenstaple it into a booklet. Students can then do a titlepage, draw pictures and add numbers on the frontand back of each page.– Eg. 1 pig, 2 stars, 3 frogs etc.
