Trust your gut

• If somebody/something doesn’t feel right, then don’t go forward!

• You want to partner up with somebody you like and can work with, since this will become a large part of your business life

Outline everything

• Clarify everything and make sure it’s all documented!

• That way you’ll all be on the exact same page when everything starts up

Make sure you

know the

person

• Ideally, you’ll want to know a potential partner for a good amount of time!

• A good way to get to know somebody is to try short-term projects with them!

• If the projects don’t work out, then they’d make a poor partner

Partner with people who have different skill-sets

• Ideal partnerships are greater than the sum of their parts!

• The best partners bring something to the table that you can’t, and is better at certain things than you!

• These complementary skills will cover your weak spots going forward

Don’t be afraid of saying no

• It’s only natural to be afraid of confrontation!

• But if a partnership isn’t right or isn’t working out, you want to end it as soon as possible
