How I took the pictures

• I took several photos in which I considered to use in my magazine and double page spread. It was quite a hard decision as I had many good and effective pictures I could use for my magazine. I needed certain lightings and effects to complete the photos and link them to Hip Hop and R&B type magazines. I asked my ‘models’ to pose and dress a certain way to imply and show a ‘serious, fierce looking’ person and band like way. I then picked out which I would use for both my front cover, contents page and double page spread to make it realistic and with the correct genre and style use in each page.

Lightening and effects

• I used light and pointed it in a certain direction to give my models a shadow and for them to be the object of the picture and main focus. I then photo-shopped the main ones I picked out for my magazine and darkened the background so the photo was more clearer. Most of my pictures did not need that much change in them as I caught the lightening theme quite well and so the photographs came out effective and professional looking for my magazine.

• For my photo shoot I based it on XXL look alike images where two males look fierce and superior and where it linked and portrayed a Hip Hop and R&B like image. What gave me this idea was the two reference photos from actual music magazines which displayed two men looking “superior”. My cover photo displays both key features I had planned to happen.
