m o d e r n e l e g a n c e Alla and Roman had an instant connection when they first met. “We had many things in common since we were both born in Russia and raised in Israel,” says Alla.

Roman proposed to Alla while they were on a weekend getaway. “In September of last year we went to Chateau Whistler to take a break from our busy life. On a cold rainy day we decided to go to the top of the mountains and just enjoy the wilderness and nature of Whistler. Roman suggested going for a ride in the newly built “Peak 2 Peak” gondolas. We were lucky to have an empty gondola just to ourselves. As we were riding and enjoying the view of the mountains and the cloud covered trees, Roman got on one knee and asked me to marry him...I said yes and started crying because at that moment we were both on cloud nine, literally!”

Alla’s silk gown featured a handmade Valencia Organza rosette strap and an asymmetrically pleated bodice accented with rosettes. She accessorized with a very special collection of diamonds. Around her neck was a nine carat diamond necklace custom-designed by her husband-to-be, Roman. Her engagement ring (white gold with a 1.5 carat centre diamond surrounded by eighty round natural diamonds) was also designed by Roman. A pair of one carat diamond stud earrings completed the sparkly ensemble.

Kit’S MaRKEt FloRiSt created Alla’s stunning cascading bouquet comprised of orchids, roses and calla lilies.

The couple were married in an outdoor ceremony on the grounds of the resort underneath a white and pale green chuppah. Tall clear vases with hot pink hydrangeas lined the aisle.

After the ceremony, guests moved into the ballroom where aRt oF thE paRty created a beautiful atmosphere with a chocolate brown and hot pink colour palette. The ballroom was dotted with round dining tables draped in white pin tuck linen accented with chocolate brown chair covers. Each table was topped with a tall glass vase filled with hot pink hydrangea, roses, dahlia, and willow branches.

Stationery played a big part in the design of the wedding day. Colleen Winton of FlouRiSh

designed the invitation and day-of stationery, including cocktail signs and the seating chart. She also created the cards which hung from a family tree which displayed family photos and quotes about marriage.

The reception was bold, bright and filled with special details. Two personalized ice luges were placed by the bar with two signature drinks. The ‘Oh Alla’, which was a yummy martini made with green apple vodka and cranberry juice, and the ‘Roman’s Empire,’ featuring Kahlua, Bailey’s Irish Cream and milk. One of the main entertainment highlights of the night was provided by videographer Bruce Patterson of Cloud ninE CREativE who filmed the entire wedding in HD and then screened a Same-Day Edit (highlights of the wedding day) for the guests before the dancing commenced. aEyRa CakES created a four-tier pearl dusted cake made with chocolate buttermilk cake, raspberry buttercream and a layer of raspberry purée. The cake was decorated with fuchsia and rich chocolate brown ribbon and wrapped in pearls. It was topped with a beautiful pink bouquet of fresh flowers. Guests were also treated to a sweet table complete with personalized M&M’s.

The couple enjoyed a month long honeymoon in Europe starting in Paris at the MuRano hotEl. Next was Barcelona with a stay at the BaRCElo hotEl and the beach of Costa Brava at the alva paRk RESoRt and Spa. Then to Rome where they stayed at lEon’S plaCE hotEl, the Amalfi Coast at the Santa CatERina hotEl, and ending up in Venice at the hotEl daniEli.
