Photo Competition

We would really love for your images to feature on the A.B Building Products website. If you follow this set of simple guidelines and provide us with a few quality images, you will automatically receive £25 to spend in a high street store of your choice. But thats not all, By sending us your images you will also be entered into our quarterly ‘Best Picture Competition’ in which you will have the chance of winning a further £50 to spend!

Camera Set UpWe recommend that you use a 4 mega-pixel camera or higher (Most of the up to date camera phones will produce images at and above this standard) set to a high resolution, or at least 300dpi. There is usually a facility in digital cameras to change the resolution, if not you may have a ‘superfine’ feature which will suffice. You can change these settings to a lower resoluion on the computer for uploading or emailing in. Please also turn the date stamp function off if you have one.

LightingNatural sunlight makes for better for a better picture, just make sure that when taking the picture your doing it with the light behind you, that way you can avoid any nasty glare appearing on the image. Direct light will cause harsh shadowing.

Get The Full PictureTake your shots nice and wide to ensure your including full or most part of the room your trying to cap-ture. Especially where you have 2 or more products within the same room, e.g. Showerwall and ceiling-PANEL. Where possible it would be great if you could get an image showing both products working with eachother! Before and after shots are great as well.

Get Close-upYou can send us as many images as you like, so dont be afraid to get close up as well, these shots are great for showing off detail.

Keep It CleanPlease make sure floors, worktops, vanity tops and baths are clear and clean when taking your pictures. If you do want to spruce things up a bit and show off the interior designer within, a few attractive homely elements to complement the decor will suffice.

Final StepsYou can easily upload your images directly to our facebook page, or send them over via email if you would prefer. File size of the images must be saved at 1 Mb or lower, and must be saved as RGB (if you chose to make any digital edits that is) but do keep a copy of the larger original size, as we might want to use your photos for printed material and will need higher resolution images for this.
