IDENTIFYING THE IMAGE

In the centre of the image Neil Armstrong is positioned as he is the main focus of the photograph.

As the periphery is dark because of the setting being out in space, the colour of the astronaut outfit stands out making it the first thing that you see when you look at the image. The background shows the setting on the image making it an iconic image showing the moon and the surface of that area.

This photo is an historic moment as no one had ever done it before making it a momentum occasion.

The picture shows celebration and success as though they are proud of what they accomplished and honour.

The image clearly shows what it is and where it is.

The natural light doesn't create any dark spots so everything is visible.

The image shows the american flag that has been stuck in the ground to represent the country that was there first. The working equipment shows they have been working on something to get there.

Everything in the image has a meaning behind it as it represents what they are there for and what they have succeeded

PERSON IN THE IMAGE

In the image you are unable to see any features of the person so you are unable to tell what gender the person is and what age the person is. But from research we know that Neil Armstrong was a male and when he first landed on the moon he was young.

From the outfit they are wearing you are able to tell that he is working due to it being a uniform and you are able to see that they are on a different plant due to you not normally wearing an astronaut outfit on earth.

The image detonates that he is raising his hand to the flag which has connotations of honour and proud towards his country as he salutes it.

The image is a long shot so it shows the person in the image and the setting around so you understand what it is trying to symbolise.

The hand gesture makes you feel accomplishment for the person as he has achieved what he wanted to.

SETTING

The setting is something that people aren't used to as the surroundings are different to what you find on earth.

The photograph was taken to show people what life on the moon is like and to mark a time in history.

This picture would be used in many different places such as museums, books showing the history of America.

The picture represents success so makes the person looking at the image proud and feel their achievement.
