Despite some cooler mornings we have been really fortunate to have nice days which allow students to
be active and outside during the recess and lunch breaks. Please ensure you child has a warm coat and
perhaps beanie to wear when going outside. Students are only supervised in their classroom during breaks
when it is wet and rainy.
P rep 20 19 Enro lments
During the past month or so we have enjoyed sharing information about our school and the Kossie
educational programs to prospective families who have students beginning their school journey in 2019.
The pride our students and staff have for their school has been most evident to those touring the school as
has been the positive climate for learning which exists. We would like to thank and acknowledge the
school captains who have supported us with the tours of the school, they have been great ambassadors
genuinely sharing what they love about Kossie. Please encourage any families considering an enrolment
at Kossie for 2018 to visit and tour the school, we already have a healthy number of Prep enrolments for
2019.

Give a Damn Give a Can-Note of Appreciation
On the week May 21 -26 The Rotary Club of Traralgon Central organised their annual ‘Give
a Damn. Give a Can’ appeal.
This is now the 25th year of GADGAC. The idea for the project was started
by a lone man appealing to shoppers as they came from a supermarket
in Melbourne. He was, he said, collecting spare cans for his neighbour
who was going through tough times.
Eleven schools in Traralgon and District supported the collection. The
entire collection this year came to 8536. But the schools collection itself
was 7145 cans, a super impressive 83% of the total collected. Each month the Food Bank
helps out between 40 and 50 families.
The RC of Traralgon Central promote Give a Can as ‘kids giving to other kids,’ believing, as
does the school, the importance of giving.
On behalf of the Rotary Club, we thank your school community for the outstanding support
of this annual project.
Ian Whitehead. Community Services Director. RC of Traralgon Central.
