Gazetted Half Day Public Holiday On Thursday 19 September (week 9), schools within the Lismore Local Government Area, including Tregeagle PS, have a gazetted half day public holiday for the Lismore Cup. Parents/carers are asked to make arrangements to collect their child/ren from school at 12 noon, as there will be no afternoon classes. Please note, we have checked with our bus company and there will be no bus run home at 12 (only a morning bus on this day).

Music Assembly – Week 7

Tomorrow, Friday 6 September, there will be a special music assembly held under the COLA starting at 2pm. Daniel (music tutor) and his music students have been busy preparing for this performance assembly and we look forward to hearing their wonderful music. Please come along and join us for an afternoon of fun and music! Lismore Performing Arts Festival This year, we are so proud of all of the Tregeagle PS students who have participated in the Lismore Performing Arts Festival, which has been running at the Lismore Workers Club. On Tuesday night we had our Dance Troupe perform ‘Jump’ which was a huge hit with the crowd. Then on Wednesday night and Thursday matinee (and again tonight) the Small School Choir has performed in a mass choir! These experiences are the result of months of practise and hard work behind the scenes. A huge thank you to Mrs Andrews who has led the Dance Troupe this year wonderfully! Responsible Pet Ownership Program Last Thursday, KS and 1B had a visit from the Responsible Pet Ownership Program educator Jackie and her dogs Ghost and Elmo. The students learnt how to safely approach a dog and appropriately behaviour around dogs. This was a very fun and informative experience for all involved.

Kirsty Spence Assistant Principal Stage 3 Canberra Excursion (15-20 September) Students are getting excited for their up & coming Canberra excursion scheduled for 15-20 September. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy. Final invoices, itinerary, “what to bring” notes were sent home to all families last week & a final reminder information note was sent home on Tuesday. A BIG THANK YOU to the P&C who helped subsidise the cost of this excursion & the Australian government for providing the PACER rebate. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $60.00 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education.
