Berkowitz, MD Texas Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Berkowitz is the Founder and President of SMB Health Consulting, specializing in assisting physicians and hospitals with clinical/ operational performance improvement and strategic planning. He has worked with over 150 clients in all 50 states over the past four years. Previously, for thirteen years he was Chief Medical Officer for St. David’s Healthcare, a six- hospital system in Austin, TX, as well as the Division CMO for HCA Central and West Texas Division. As a member of the senior executive team, he had the overall responsibility of clinical outcomes improvement, physician development, strategic planning, and medical management for the Division. He was also Chairman of Capital Area Providers, a 5.01-(a) Texas medical foundation with over 850 participating physicians. St. David's has been recognized at both the state and national levels for patient care quality and performance excellence receiving the Texas Award for Performance Excellence in 2008, and the Malcolm Baldrige Award in 2014. Prior to this position, Dr. Berkowitz was the National Practice Leader for Physician Services with the HayGroup, assisting over 75 major healthcare clients throughout the USA and Canada in the areas of strategic development, physician integration, physician compensation, and medical practice management. He was a senior executive for Harris Methodist Health System, serving as Managing Director of the HMO and Chief Medical Officer for the integrated delivery system. He was appointed by Governor Perry to Chair of the Texas Institute of Health Care Quality and Efficiency, and sits on the Board of the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. He has been on the Board of the Texas Hospital Association, the Texas Health Care Information Council, and the Texas Association of Health Care Quality. Dr. Berkowitz also works with new and current Chief Medical Officers through an innovative didactic and hands-on program to improve clinical and operational results.

Steve M. Susan Choi, PhD, CPHQ Pennsylvania Susan Choi is the Senior Director of Quality Partnerships & Initiatives at the Health Care Improvement Foundation (HCIF). Since joining HCIF in 2012, Susan has served as the project director of learning collaboratives addressing a variety of topics including health literacy, palliative care, and prevention and management of chronic conditions. She is currently responsible for the facilitation

of two community health improvement collaboratives that engage hospitals and health systems in Southeastern Pennsylvania to address unmet community health needs, such as food insecurity and access to behavioral health services. Susan previously worked as a Consultant and Research Associate with the Institute for Community Health, a community health improvement organization founded by three Boston-area health systems, and the Cambridge Health Alliance, a safety net, multi-campus academic medical center based in Cambridge, MA. In this role, she was responsible for directing community-based, participatory program evaluations of health promotion programs, including those supporting improved intercultural patient-provider communication, smoking cessation, and chronic disease self-management. In addition, she led several quality initiatives at the Cambridge Health Alliance focused on health equity, language services, and HIV care. Susan is an experienced trainer and technical consultant on issues related to cultural competence and health equity. Susan earned her BA in Psychology and PhD in Social Psychology from Harvard University and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).

Ronda (Roni) Christopher, DHSc, MEd, OTL, PCMH-CCE Ohio Roni Christopher is the principal of RCG Partners, LLC. Throughout her career she has managed and provided strategic oversight of multi-stakeholder projects in healthcare transformation. With a passion and talent for maximizing outcomes and championing a culture of continuous improvement, she is nationally recognized

for her deep knowledge of change management in the clinical setting and her ability to apply improvement science to attain measurable goals. Her expertise includes diagnosing a system’s needs and quickly identifying opportunities, redesigning clinical workflows, building staff competencies and bringing a practical approach to sound theories. Previously, as the Executive Director for the Population and Community Health Institute at Mercy Health, Roni was responsible for bridging philanthropic spending to drive improved outcomes for the underserved. Prior to that role, Roni served as the Vice President of Network Development for Healthspan, Mercy Health’s insurance plan. In this position, she led initiatives to drive quality outcomes of the plan’s insurance products. Having expertise in managing large, state and federal multi-stakeholder projects, Roni has directed the quality focus for the Robert Wood Johnson’s Aligning Forces for Quality program; the Office of the National Coordinator’s Beacon project; and the Ohio Perinatal Quality Collaborative. Her career has spanned the continuum of care where she has contributed to successful patient satisfaction, post-acute rehab and transitions of care projects. Roni is recently completed a Doctorate of Health Sciences and holds an MEd/OTL, Occupational Therapy and Education Administration, from Xavier University and a Certificate of Completion for Population Health Management from the Jefferson College of Population Health. She is a Certified Content Expert, Patient Centered Medical Home – NCQA; a HealthCare Administrator, LNHA through Ohio State University; a trained Facilitator in Crucial Conversations and Breakthrough Series Collaboratives; and is certified as a Professional in Human Resources.

Mary R. Cooper, MD, JD Connecticut Mary Reich Cooper is Chief Quality Officer for the Connecticut Hospital Association, a position she has held since 2012. In this capacity she is responsible for overseeing the implementation of High Reliability Science throughout the hospitals in Connecticut, crafting the program for CHA’s Partnership for Patients work with AHA/HRET, creating value for the hospitals with their quality and safety strategy, and working closely with the state government and quality

organizations. Dr. Cooper came to Connecticut from Rhode Island, where she was Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer for Lifespan Corporation, a four-hospital health system based in Providence. She was an Assistant Professor in Medicine (Research) at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a Member on the Rhode Island State Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline. She went to Lifespan in July 2007, after twelve years at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where she served as the Chief Quality Officer. She is a founding member of the Connecticut Partnership for Patient Safety, a public-private partnership, where she serves as Secretary. In January of 2016, she also joined the faculty at Thomas Jefferson University College of Population Health in Philadelphia, PA, where she is the Program Director for the Healthcare Quality and Safety track. Dr. Cooper received her undergraduate degree cum laude from Duke University, her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, where she was elected to AOA, and her degree in health law from Pace University School of Law. She has numerous publications and grants, and her interests are large-scale change and health policy.

Susan Cosgrove, MPA, CPHQ Pennsylvania Susan Cosgrove, MPA, CPHQ is a Project Manager and the Team Leader of Health Literacy Initiatives at the Health Care Improvement Foundation (HCIF), a nonprofit organization located in Philadelphia, PA. She currently leads health literacy projects including SEPA-READS, a regional collaborative to improve health literacy in Southeastern Pennsylvania, and the Pennsylvania Health

Literacy Coalition, an initiative to create a culture of health literacy in Pennsylvania. She also provides project support for The Philly Difference, a collaborative focused on the reduction and prevention of hypertension and diabetes in the City of Philadelphia. Susan previously worked as a Project Assistant with the Population Health Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she collaborated with faculty and community partners to implement and evaluate the Western Wisconsin Mental Health Access Audit, a program designed to increase rural residents’ access to mental health and substance abuse services. During that time, she also provided consulting services to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and Department of Children and Families, assessing health disparities in the foster care population and making programmatic recommendations for the Foster Care Medical Home initiative. Previously, she engaged in health care advocacy in Chicago with the Illinois Campaign for Better Health Care and supported research on child support policy at the Institute for Research on Poverty. Susan holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Urban and Ethnic Studies from The College of New Jersey and Master in Public Affairs from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Susan is an avid runner and triathlete. She’s participated in dozens of races, ranging from 5k to marathon distance, and completed two Ironman Triathlons as an Ironman Foundation athlete.

Mary O. Cramer, MBA, CPHQ Connecticut Mary O. Cramer is the Executive Director, Organizational Effectiveness and Chief Experience Officer at the Massachusetts General Hospital and the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization. Founded in 1811, the MGH is a 1,000 bed, quaternary hospital with 26,000 employees and 4,000 medical staff with the largest and oldest teaching program of the Harvard

Medical School. The MGH cares for more than 50,000 inpatients and 1.7 million outpatients annually and conducts the largest hospital-based research program in the United States with an annual budget of more than $900 million. Ms Cramer provides executive oversight to internal consultants dedicated to improvement of patient experience and operational performance. Position responsibilities include strategic planning and programmatic oversight of Patient Experience and Process Improvement internal consulting teams including program design, project prioritization and execution, staff recruitment and development, and organization-wide training and mentoring. Previously Ms. Cramer was Director of Performance Excellence at the 2200 bed NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, the University Hospital for Columbia and Cornell. She has also provided administrative oversight to healthcare quality and safety departments, patient case management, infection control, medical staff credentialing, health information management and regulatory compliance programs among others. Ms. Cramer earned an M.B.A. from Suffolk University, Boston, Massachusetts and a B.A., magna cum laude from Boston College. She also obtained post-baccalaureate certification in health information management. Ms. Cramer is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and lectures nationally and internationally on a variety of topics related to quality in healthcare.

Ellen T. Derrick, MD, MPH, FACS Washington State Ellen Derrick – the heart and soul behind Box Bar Vascular – is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in both general and vascular surgery. Prior to founding Box Bar, Dr. Derrick practiced at Providence Regional Medical Center – Everett where she also served as Medical Director of Safety. Dr. Derrick is a nationally recognized pioneer in the need to track and

monitor patient safety to improve outcomes. Working with the University of Washington and the Washington State Foundation for Healthcare Quality, Ellen led the state-wide effort to establish the nation’s first Surgical Care and Outcomes Assessment Program database to examine outcomes in vascular surgery, interventional radiology, and interventional cardiology. She is a former clinical faculty member at the University of Washington School of Medicine, sits on the American College of Surgeons Advocacy and Vascular Surgery Councils, and acts as a delegate for King County to the Health Care Policy to the State of Washington. Dr. Derrick is published in numerous technical and professional journals and has spoken at symposia and seminars across the country. Yet Ellen’s greatest professional joy comes from delivering the highest quality, personal care to her patients – to improve not only their vascular health but the overall quality of life.

Brian H. Fillipo, MD, MMM, FACP New York

Brian Fillipo is the Chief Medical Officer/Chief Quality Officer for The Guthrie Clinic and the DIO for Robert Packer Hospital. His professional background extends from private practice to academics and industry. He was Residency Director for Internal Medicine at Hahnemann University, then moved on a position where he served both as Medical Director and then Vice President

for Managed Care for an insurance company. Previously, Dr. Fillipo served as Chief Quality Officer of Moses Cone Health System in North Carolina and as Associate Chief Medical Officer for Geisinger Health System in Pennsylvania. Dr. Fillipo attended medical school and went on to complete his residency at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. He is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and has completed the Masters of Medical Management program at Tulane University.

Neil Goldfarb Pennsylvania Neil Goldfarb is President and CEO of the Greater Philadelphia Business Coalition on Health (GPBCH, www.gpbch.org), an employer-led non-profit organization established in 2012 with the mission of developing best practices for maintaining a healthy workforce, and ensuring that when healthcare is needed it is safe, high-quality, accessible and affordable.

Mr. Goldfarb brings over 30 years of healthcare research and management experience to his Coalition leadership position. As Associate Dean for Research in the Jefferson College of Population Health, he was responsible for developing and carrying out the College’s research agenda, focused on healthcare quality and value, and economic evaluation of healthcare technologies. Concurrently, Mr. Goldfarb served as Director of Ambulatory Care Performance Improvement for the Thomas Jefferson University faculty practice plan. His previous positions include Executive Director of a quality improvement consulting and data collection firm, and Vice President of Health Services for the Philadelphia region’s first Medicaid managed care plan. Mr. Goldfarb has authored over 60 articles in the peer-reviewed literature, focused on his interests in health and disease management, quality measurement and improvement, care for the underserved, and health economics and outcomes research. He serves as adjunct faculty and teaches courses for the Jefferson College of Pharmacy and University of the Sciences. Mr. Goldfarb is a member of the Board of Governors of the National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH), and founding co-Director of NBCH’s College for Value-based Purchasing of Health Benefits.

Judd E. Hollander, MD Pennsylvania Judd E. Hollander, MD, is Senior Vice President of Healthcare

Delivery Innovation at TJU and Associate Dean for Strategic Health

University and Professor & Vice Chair of Finance and Healthcare

Enterprises in the Department of Emergency Medicine, where

responsibilities include the JeffConnect Telemedicine Program and

Jefferson Urgent Care. He graduated from New York University Medical School in 1986,

completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Barnes Hospital in 1989, and an Emergency

Medicine Residency at Jacobi Hospital in 1992. His research interests include innovative care

delivery models, risk stratification of patients with potential cardiovascular disease; cocaine

associated cardiovascular complications; and laceration and wound management. Dr. Hollander

has published over 500 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and editorials on these and other

topics. Dr. Hollander was President of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, chaired

the SAEM Program Committee and Emergency Medicine Foundation Scientific Review

Committee and was Deputy Editor for the Annals of Emergency Medicine, and co-chaired the

National Quality Forum (NQF) committee to create a framework to support measure

development for telehealth. Dr. Hollander was the awarded the ACEP Award for Outstanding

Research in 2001, the Hal Jayne SAEM Academic Excellence Award in 2003 and the SAEM

Leadership Award in 2011.

Michael Kobernick, MD, MS, MS-PopH, CPE Michigan Michael Kobernick is Chief Medical Officer at SmartHealth, where he is responsible for the development of an Ascension national strategy for population healthcare management and new models of physician contracting. In support of this position, he completed a MS in Population Health at Thomas Jefferson University College of Population Health. Upon graduation, he began teaching for the College.

Prior to SmartHealth, Dr. Kobernick worked for several years at St. John Providence Health System. He joined the medical staff at St. John Macomb Center in 1988 as Director of the Emergency Department (ED) and went on to serve in several roles, including Vice President of Medical Affairs. While at St. John Macomb Center, he earned a MS in Health Services Administration from the University of Detroit-Mercy.

Dr. Kobernick was raised in Detroit and completed his undergraduate, medical education and Family Practice Residency at Michigan State University. He served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Parke-Davis Teacher Development Award from the American Academy of Family Practice. After a year in private family practice, Dr. Kobernick spent five years as a staff physician in the ED at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, where he qualified for and achieved Board Certification in Emergency Medicine, as well as published several articles. In 2007 Dr. Kobernick was recognized by the University of Detroit-Mercy as Alumni of the Year. In addition to the above responsibilities, he has been very involved in the St. John Accountable Care Organization, Partners in Care and the Physician Alliance.

Dr. Kobernick is married and blessed with four children and six grandchildren.

Della M. Lin, MD Hawaii As a physician with leadership experience for over 20 years, Dr. Lin brings clarity, inspiration, and provocative challenges to her audiences by integrating practical clinical experience, systems thinking around organizational resilience, and essential information of the current patient safety and quality landscape. Dr. Lin is a Senior Fellow in Patient Safety and Health Systems

Engineering with the Estes Park Institute and is an inaugural National Patient Safety Foundation/Health Forums Patient Safety Leadership Fellow (2002). She continues as core fellowship faculty as an AHA-HRET Senior Fellow in Patient Safety and Health Systems. Dr. Lin is also adjunct faculty with the Institute for Health care Improvement (IHI), is inaugural faculty for the Jefferson College of Population Health Quality Safety Leadership Series (QSLS) and Senior Advisor with Pascal Metrics. Her books include “Rapid Response Teams: Proven Strategies for Successful Implementation (HcPro. 2005, 2008), “Surgical Care Improvement Project: Improve Performance, Reduce Complications and Comply with CMS (HcPro 2007) and “Sedation, Anesthesia and JCAHO” (2005), and she was also part of the editing team for the National Patient Safety Foundation’s (NPSF) 2008 Stand Up for Patient Safety Resource Guide. Dr. Lin is a board member at several health care entities. In addition to speaking engagements and facilitating retreats for medical executive committees, boards and combination board/MEC/administration venues, Dr. Lin works with organizations and hospitals on issues relating to physician, executive leadership and board engagement around quality; patient safety and patient-centered care; organizational and safety culture; surgical safety; and multidisciplinary simulation/near miss debriefing. Dr. Lin continues an active practice in anesthesiology, receiving her training from the University of California, San Diego. She has several committee appointments with the American Society of Anesthesiology, and has been a board examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Denise Murphy, RN, BSN, MPH Denise Murphy, RN, BSN, MPH Missouri As vice president for patient care systems and senior nurse executive for BJC HealthCare, Denise Murphy is responsible for BJC’s patient care strategy, integrated care management strategy, patient safety platforms, direction of clinical care management system deployment, and supporting the development of BJC’s 8,000 nursing professionals and other allied health professionals.

As BJC’s most senior nursing executive, Murphy serves as an integral member of the executive leadership team, and provides leadership support for chief nursing officers, patient safety and risk management professionals, and service excellence program personnel across BJC. Prior to BJC, Murphy served for eight years as system vice president for quality and patient safety at Main Line Health in suburban Philadelphia. From 2003-2008, she was chief safety and quality officer for BJC’s Barnes-Jewish Hospital. She spent the previous seven years as director of epidemiology and patient safety for BJC HealthCare. Murphy went to nursing school in Philadelphia, received her bachelor of science in nursing degree in Portland, Maine, and earned a master’s degree in public health/epidemiology degree from the St. Louis University School of Public Health. She graduated from the first AHA/National Patient Safety Foundation’s Leadership Fellowship in August, 2003. Her professional certifications are current in both Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) and Patient Safety (CPPS). Murphy is considered an international expert on the business of infection prevention and the establishment of effective patient safety and quality programs, optimizing process improvement in health care, and creating and sustaining a highly reliable safety culture. She is an active member of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), Society of Healthcare Epidemiologists of America (SHEA), American Society for Healthcare Risk Managers and American College of Healthcare Executives. Murphy was president of the APIC National Board of Directors, chaired strategic planning and was a member of the annual educational conference committees for both APIC and SHEA. She served on the National Quality Forum’s Patient Safety Advisory Committee, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee, and the Hospital and Health System Association of Pennsylvania’s Committee on Quality and Care Management. Murphy was the 2010 winner of the Carole DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award for Infection Prevention and was inducted into the American Academy of Nursing in 2013 for her leadership in the fields of infection prevention, patient safety and quality.

David B. Nash, MD, MBA

Pennsylvania David B. Nash was named the Founding Dean of the Jefferson College of Population Health (JCPH) in 2008. This appointment caps a 27-year tenure on the faculty of Thomas Jefferson University. He is also the Dr. Raymond C. and Doris N. Grandon Professor of Health Policy. A board certified internist, Dr. Nash is internationally recognized for his work in public accountability for outcomes, physician leadership development, and quality-of-care improvement. Repeatedly named to Modern Healthcare's list of Most Powerful

Persons in Healthcare, his national activities cover a wide scope. In the not-for-profit sector, Dr. Nash served on the Board of Trustees of Catholic Healthcare Partners (now Mercy Partners), in Cincinnati, OH (1998–2008), where he was the inaugural chair of the board committee on Quality and Safety. He just concluded his tenure (2009-2017) on the board of Main Line Health, a four-hospital system in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he also chaired the board committee on Quality and Safety. He now serves on the board of the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. He is also on the Advisory Board for Vizient’s Center for Applied Healthcare Studies. He is a principal faculty member for Quality of Care programming for the American Association of Physician Leaders (AAPL) in Tampa, FL and leads the academic joint venture between AAPL and the JSPH. He is on the NQF task force on Improving Population Health and is on the John M. Eisenberg Award Committee from the Joint Commission. He also is a founding member of the AAMC-IQ Steering Committee, the group charged with introducing the tenets of quality and safety into medical education. Finally, Dr. Nash has chaired the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) of the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council (HC4) for more than 18 years and he is widely recognized as a pioneer in the public reporting of outcomes. In the for-profit sector, Dr. Nash was named to the Board of Directors for Humana, Inc., one of the nation’s largest publically traded healthcare companies, in 2009. In October 2013 he joined the board of Vestex, a privately held advanced medical textile company in Orlando, FL. In 2014 he joined the board of InfoMC, a leading information technology company in suburban Philadelphia. He is on the health care advisory board for Arsenal Capital Partners in NYC. Dr. Nash received his BA in economics (Phi Beta Kappa) from Vassar College; his MD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and his MBA in Health Administration (with honors) from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. While at Penn, he was a former Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar and Medical Director of a nine-physician faculty group practice in general internal medicine.

Harm J. Scherpbier, MD, MS Pennsylvania

Harm Scherpbier is Health IT Analyst and Physician Leader at BanterHIT, helping Health IT firms and healthcare provider organizations set strategies for marketing and product direction—from concept development to concrete implementation.

Current projects include:

Electronic health record (EHR) design and development for a large global health IT firm Population health analytics strategy and product direction for a global population health

management firm Personal health record strategy Analytics approaches in patient privacy and workflow optimization Interoperability and health data exchange Clinical decision support strategy

Dr. Scherpbier teaches Health Informatics & Population Health Analytics at the Jefferson College of Population Health. His educational style and philosophy emphasize hands-on, practical learning, teamwork and collaboration, and synergy with industry and market trends.

Dr. Scherpbier previously was Chief Medical Information Officer at Main Line Health, a five-hospital Integrated Health Network near Philadelphia, PA, where he was responsible for the implementation of healthcare information systems and electronic patient records for physicians, nurses and other clinicians throughout the health system. He held positions in software engineering and product design and development at Siemens Health Services, CareScience, Aetna US Healthcare and SMS. He serves on the Advisory Board of Haystack Informatics and VitalTrax.

Dr. Scherpbier was born and raised in the Netherlands. He completed his medical training at the University of Groningen and his MS in Medical Informatics from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam.

Katherine Schneider, MD, MPhil, FAAFP Pennsylvania Nationally known for her work in the field of accountable care and patient engagement, Dr. Katherine Schneider's mission is to deliver better health, better care, at a sustainable cost in the communities that we work in, live in, and serve. She believes passionately that the time has finally come for the business model of healthcare to align with care models that further this mission. As President and CEO, Dr. Schneider provides

leadership, strategic direction and ongoing administration and management for all aspects of the Delaware Valley Accountable Care Organization (the Philadelphia region’s largest), including more than 450 primary care physicians and five health systems. Previously, Dr. Schneider was Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Medecision, population health and care management technology for providers and health plans. She also served as the senior vice president for Health Engagement at AtlantiCare, where she led the system's strategic transformational work toward accountable care and engaging individuals in their own health. In her previous position at Middlesex Health System, she spearheaded projects embedding chronic disease management in the delivery system and value-based payment models, including Medicare’s Physician Group Practice demonstration project. She has also led several award-winning initiatives in community health improvement. Dr. Schneider is a former member of the National Advisory Council to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the federal agency charged with improving the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of healthcare for all Americans. She is a graduate of Smith College and Columbia University. She is a board-certified Family Physician with an additional degree in Epidemiology and is also in the first cohort of US physicians to achieve subspecialty certification in Clinical Informatics in 2013.

Brian J. Silverstein, MD Illinois Dr. Brian Silverstein is a Director with The Chartis Group and a national healthcare thought leader. He has extensive consulting and operational healthcare expertise, including a focus on population health management. Dr. Silverstein has focused his 20 years of healthcare experience on creating a positive impact on patient care and provider satisfaction through smart business strategy and operations. He continues to focus on assisting select organizations throughout the country on their value-based care delivery strategy and operations.

Prior to The Chartis Group, Dr. Silverstein served as a senior vice president at CareFirst

BlueCross Blue Shield, where he ran one of the country’s largest value care delivery programs.

Other consulting roles include, managing director of Geisinger Consulting Group and executive

product strategist for xG Health Solutions, senior vice president and Chicago office leader for

the Camden Group (a division of HealthCare Partners), vice president and national thought

leader for Sg2 Health Care Intelligence and as a consultant for ZS Associates.

Dr. Silverstein holds appointments as a faculty member for The American College of Healthcare Executives and The Governance Institute. He is a consulting expert for the Thomas Jefferson College of Population Health PHLS. In addition, he frequently delivers invited presentations for National organizations such as the Society of Healthcare Strategy and Market Development, The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, The Radiological Society of North America and The National Association of ACOs (NAACOS). He is also on the editorial board of Population Health Management. Dr. Silverstein is also a prolific author. His articles have been published in the American Bar Association The Health Lawyer, BoardRoom Press, H&HN Magazine, Strategy Alert by The Forum for Healthcare Strategist, The Governance Institute White Paper and many others. In addition to his published articles, Dr. Silverstein is frequently quoted in publications including Medscape, Forbes and Healthcare Executive. Dr. Silverstein was also named one of the “10 people to know in the World of ACOs” in 2010. Dr. Silverstein received his M.D. from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his internship in internal medicine with McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University where he was named valedictorian, and completed a second major in biology, Magna Cum Laude.
