Philosophy of the Portal
• The portal is a single location for all filtered information.
• The Curriculum Mapping or CMAP is a link on the portal.
• Editing rights are different based on the permissions allowed by the portal.
Permissions• All district curriculum, editable by the
departments, viewable by all teaching staff.• CMAP users can view any curriculum across the
District.• Teachers can edit any course assigned to their
department by default. These courses should appear in the My Courses tab.
Home Menu• Courses are organized in
three ways:o “My Courses” o “All Departments” o “All Grades”
• “Search” tab produces a robust keyword search that can also be refined based on selected filters.
• School Board approved Curriculum can be viewed or printed.
• Collaborate and share teacher resources using the Library.
• Analyze overlaps and
gaps in the curriculum using the Standards Report.
Each course will automatically populate with the following items: Overview, Curriculum Map, KUD, Unit Map, Library and Standard Report.
Course progress can be tracked by the visual icons that identify sections of the curriculum that are in progress or complete.
Overview• The course Overview
has general information about the course including:o Grade Level(s) Taughto Course Big Ideao Course Descriptiono Course Essential Questionso Course Skillso YouTube Linko Course Assessments
• You can change the headings to match your districts’ curriculum philosophy or terminology.
Curriculum Map• The Curriculum
Map is a single-page that includes the name of each unit, the expected pacing and days, and resources.
• Each unit entered will receive a KUD chart, Unit Map, and Library.
KUD
Unit Map
The Unit Map houses all important unit information. This includes the Big Ideas from the KUD, the Essential Questions, Vocabulary, Co-Curricular Activities, Unit Assessment(s), Materials/Resources and Launch Activities for the unit.
StandardsStandards are also found on the Unit Map. The Department Head/Chair may assign standards at either the Unit level or the Topic level. Easily “Choose Standards” from a pre-populated list of state and national standards.
