2. Welcome Future Leaders of the Philippines! Northern Illinois University and the International Training Office, Division of International Affairs welcome You to the Huskie Family! 3. About PYLP 11 This year NIU welcomes 24 high school-aged students and 4 adult leaders from Mindanao, Philippines! Participants will attend workshops on leadership development, social and environmental activism, American culture, diversity, tolerance, and conflict management making them the Leaders of Tomorrow! 4. Visiting a wide variety of culturally, and historically important sights in Chicago, and Washington, DC 8. Chicagos beautiful skyline 9. The Bean 10. To take a funny reflection picture with a bean is a must-do! 11. Night out at Drury Lane Theater to watch the Broadway musical 12. High Ropes Course at Stronghold Conference Center 13. The United States Capitol in Washington, DC 14. The White House 15. Photo with State Department Program Officer presenting the certificates 16. Packing meals for the worlds starving children 17. Presenting Action Plans for community projects 18. Interacting with American students, making new friends and spending 2 weeks with an American host family. Teaching a new American friend the traditional dance 19. Presenting traditional Filipino dance in Rochelle High School 20. Meeting Host Family for the first time! 21. Host family welcomes their students 22. The Follow On Activities After the program students returning to the Philippines to implement their community projects. 23.
