Re: Increase in PMA member disability benefit

Consistent with the second key imperative of the current PMAleadership in the upgrade of our mutual aid benefits, yourAssociation is pleased to inform you that the Committee on MutualAid has recommended increasing the Disability Benefit fromP8,000.00 to P10,000.

In this regard, in its regular meeting on November 13, 2010, the PMABoard has decided favorably to such increase and has approved therecommended increase effective November 15, 2010. The usualrequirements in availing such benefit shall apply. The Society officersare thus strongly enjoined to cascade/ disseminate this

iouncement.

Re: Membership dues discount

GREETINGS!

Consistent with the current PMA leadership's objective to provide all reasonablemeans necessary to allow a reprieve in the settlement of arrears and takingcognizance of present financial difficulties of many of our colleagues, the PMA Board,in its regular meeting on November 13, 2010, has passed a resolution that againgrants the provision of a 50% discount to all members who will settle theirarrears on membership dues with the National Association that cover from 2009and earlier.

Please note that the membership dues of the PMA in the past years are as follows:

1985-19901995-20002001 -20042005 - 20092010

The discount shall take effect immediately and shall run until May 31, 2011.Membership dues for 2010 and 2011 are stilt to be paid in full In this regard, allcomponent societies of the PMA are enjoined to extend the same privilege to theirrespective members. On the other hand, the privileges accorded to members of goodstanding, specifically the right to vote and be voted upon, shall be restored one yearafter reinstatement as an active member. The Mutual Aid Code provides thatreinstated members shall receive mutual aid benefits as follows:

Within the 1s1 year of reinstatement, 25%Within the 2 year of reinstatement, 50%Within the 3rd year of reinstatement, 75%4th year and beyond, 100%

Re: Computerization Program and the Powercard

GREETINGS!

To further increase the capability of the PMA and serve its members efficiently; our

Association has initiated an aggressive and ambitious computerization program that

will enable the members and component societies, specialty divisions, specialty and

affiliate societies to conduct various transactions online like:

membership dues remittances and payments,

real time access to membership status and other details,

- real time access to acquired CME points, easy access to physician

information and database exclusive to PMA members,

access to an electronic repository and database of all information and

archived documents, journals and references pertaining to the PMA.

A hallmark of the computerization program is the capability to provide members

who are situated in isolated areas of the country the means to acquire CME units

online. Earned units shall be automatically credited to the members account in real

time.

In this regard, allow us to reiterate our call to the members for support in this

endeavor. In order to complete the computerization program, we need to provide

appropriate funding, and this has been allocated through the proceeds that will be

earned through our PMA Powercard! To date, there are now over a hundred

establishments that honor the PMA Powercard and extend to our members nominal

discounts and other freebies both in the National Capital Region and in the

provinces. The PMA Powercard is a radical contingency measure to finally ensure our

Association's financial independence from sponsors and traditional industrial

benefactors. Let us step forward and move forward!

Furthermore, this is the card that was accepted by the MMDA for exemption to the

number coding system. Another advantage of the Powercard is that it provides PMA
