PHD Annual Awards for Excellence were instituted in 1997 to recognize Indian businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals for their outstanding achievements/ contributions in selected areas and for promoting corporate and individual initiatives in economic, social, educational, and cultural areas; encourage healthy and ethical business practices and create consciousness about the business community’s role towards society and corporate social responsibility; promote entrepreneurship and innovation in MSME sector and also motivate women to take up leadership role in business and social welfare

Justice R.C. Lahoti, the 35th Chief Justice of India is a well known and respected personality in the legal fraternity. He has a rich experience of over 40 years in the field of law and justice. He was born on 1st November 1940. After completing his studies as a Commerce Graduate, he went on to pursue LLB.
His journey to the legal fraternity started in 1960 when he was enrolled as a Pleader in District Guna. Two years later he was enrolled as an Advocate in 1962, and in April 1977, he was recruited directly from the Bar to the State Higher Judicial Service and appointed as a District & Sessions Judge, a post from which he resigned a year later to continue his practice as an Advocate in the High Court.
A magnetic personality, an entrepreneur, a global philanthropist, and a social activist with a will of iron and a heart of gold. Mrs. Aruna Abhey Oswal has been working tirelessly to accomplish the dreams of numerous lives that she has touched over the years.
To propagate and caress the lives of the underprivileged she has taken on a new journey through her Foundation-Aruna Abhey Oswal Trust to nurture lives and spread joy.
Born in a simple family at Ambala, her childhood was nurtured by her beloved parents who supported her every talent of dance, music, acting and developed her confidence for all the challenges. She did her Master’s degree in English.
Mr Balbir Punj (born 1949) is a renowned journalist and columnist from India. He is a member of the Rajya Sabha representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). On 31 March 2013, he was promoted as one of the Vice Presidents of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).[1]
Mr. Punj was born in Lalowal, Gurdaspur, Punjab. He started his career in journalism for the publication Motherland in 1971. He also worked for Financial Express from 1974 to 1996. He is a close aide of RSS.
Mr. Pratip Chaudhuri (born 1953), a 1974 batch alumnus of University Business School – Chandigarh, is the former chairman of the State Bank of India. He took charge from O. P. Bhatt, on 7 April 2011 and retired on 30 September 2013. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of the International Division of SBI.
He joined the State Bank of India 38 years back as a probationary officer in 1974.
He has held several important positions in SBI including Chief General Manager of Chennai Circle. He is also credited with the merger of State Bank of Saurashtra in 2008, where he was a director.

This award recognizes an Organization which has made an outstanding contribution in the field of Social Work/Community Development & Service/ Environment protection and conservation/ employee development. Corporate Citizenship is the way in which a company has shown an outstanding contribution to Social development & Community services, Environmental impacts and Economics in the design of its products and services and the management of its operations. Corporate citizenship encompasses the Values, Policies, Practices and Performance targets that guide a company's business strategy while maximizing returns to shareholders and society while ensuring minimum negative impact on society and environment.

1. All nomination forms should be duly filled in and submitted before the end date and accompanied
by a Recommendation letter.
2. An Indian corporate / individual can apply for award for one or more category of award.
3. PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry holds the right to reject any application at any time
with no liability to give justification.
4. Previous recipients of awards can apply for nomination for any other category(s) other than the
one in which they were awarded in the last 5 years.
5. While screening the nominations, the applicant company's / individual's proactive initiatives in
addressing business and society issues, outstanding contribution to social and community
welfare & endeavors towards minimizing environmental footprints and economics in the design
of its products and services and the management of its operations will be considered. The
Nature of Business should not be socially undesirable.
6. Awards will be decided by a three level meticulous screening and selection procedure validated
by third party auditors and finalised by an eminent Jury chaired by the Retired Chief Justice of
India and other prominent personalities.
7. Awards will be conferred at the Annual Session of PHDCCI by the Chief Guest. Each Award
includes a Citation and a Trophy. A Citations Booklet will be printed for wide circulation.
Awardees will be publicised through advertisement in leading national dailies, PHDCCI website,
and social media.
8. Copy of the prescribed Nomination form can be used for filing more than one nomination in

PHD ANNUAL AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE 2019
1. All nomination forms should be duly filled in and submitted before the end date and accompanied
by a Recommendation letter.
2. An Indian corporate / individual can apply for award for one or more category of award.
3. PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry holds the right to reject any application at any time
with no liability to give justification.
4. Previous recipients of awards can apply for nomination for any other category(s) other than the
one in which they were awarded in the last 5 years.
5. While screening the nominations, the applicant company's / individual's proactive initiatives in
addressing business and society issues, outstanding contribution to social and community
welfare & endeavors towards minimizing environmental footprints and economics in the design
of its products and services and the management of its operations will be considered. The
Nature of Business should not be socially undesirable.
6. Awards will be decided by a three level meticulous screening and selection procedure validated
by third party auditors and finalised by an eminent Jury chaired by the Retired Chief Justice of
India and other prominent personalities.
7. Awards will be conferred at the Annual Session of PHDCCI by the Chief Guest. Each Award
includes a Citation and a Trophy. A Citations Booklet will be printed for wide circulation.
Awardees will be publicised through advertisement in leading national dailies, PHDCCI website,
and social media.
8. Copy of the prescribed Nomination form can be used for filing more than one nomination in
following categories:

PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, a leading Industry Chamber of India, ever since its inception in 1905, has been an active participant in the India Growth Story through its Advocacy Role for the Policy Makers and Regulators of the Country. Regular interactions, Seminars, Conference and Conclaves allow healthy and constructive discussions between the Government, Industry and International Agencies bringing out the Vitals for Growth. As a true representative of the Industry with a large membership base of 1,30,000 direct and indirect members, PHD Chamber has forged ahead leveraging its legacy with the Industry knowledge across sectors (58 Industry verticals being covered through Expert Committees), a deep understanding of the Economy at large and the populace at the micro level.
At the National level, the PHD Chamber is well represented in 16 States with its own offices and MOUs with eleven Partner Chambers in different States.
At the Global level we have been working with the Concerned Ministries, Embassies and High Commissions to bring in the International Best Practices and Business Opportunity.
