This relative lightness compared to other anchors also makes it easier to bring aboard. Stowage is also simple with the grapnel anchor thanks to its easy fold-away structure. The grapnel does have some downsideshowever, such as that it is mainly only suitable for smaller vessels and dinghies in the short term. This is certainly not the anchor to take with you on the high seas.
