ABSTRACT In this project, it is proposed to fabricate the polymer composite specimens . The specimens
are prepared using hand lay up method. The constituents which are resin and reinforcement
particles were procured from retail outlets. The standard dimensions for specimen
preparation were taken from the various journals. By using the dimensions the moulds for
fabrication of specimens are prepared.
The effects of variation of particle weight fractions on the mechanical properties of
composite will be evaluated by conducting various tests which are Tensile, Flexural bending
and Compression test.

INSPECTION• Breaking of the Laminates while cutting
them using Semi automated band saw.
• High brittleness of the laminates.
• The laminates acquired high brittleness mainly due to large particles size, proportion of hardener used is more which lead to uneven distribution.
• The fabricated Laminates have a very high compression strength, hardness and poor tensile strength.
CORRECTIONS TO BE MADE:• To increase tensile strength of the
composites:
- Sago Particles are finely powdered into nanoparticles.
- Hardener will be mixed in proportion of 10-15%
• Jig-Saw will be used to cut the Laminates as verticle load was applied while using Semi Automated band saw which lead to breakage of the Laminates.
FURTHER ADVANCMENT
• Laminates Preparation• Specimen Fabrication• Tension test• Compression test • 3 point Bend test• Water Absorption test• SEM Photographs
