HISTORYA few years ago Phahama undertook a trial run over a 3 month period.100 trikes on the roadSponsored by 6 major corporationsGeneral response received from corporates when approached was very positive. “I think the idea is quite brilliant!”

- Chris Moerdyk -

Many “brilliant ideas” often take a tremendous amount of hard work, financial input and organisation to achieve their ultimate objective.

Page 14: Phahama Sales Presentation PP 2

•Fitting the units with solid rubber wheels was imperative

•A second and emergency brake was fitted to the front wheel

•A total of 3 independent braking systems.

HISTORY . . .On completion of the trial run, the Phahama team were able to establish areas for improvement to ensure project success:

Page 15: Phahama Sales Presentation PP 2

The emergency brake converted into a hand towing mechanism

To encourage maintenance of the unit and branding as well as the training thereof, the monthly stipend proved invaluable.

A fair amount of training was required for the operation of the unit

Allowing operators to take units home proved to be a major plus factor for them, eliminating travel costs to and from recycling depots.
