    Introduction

    Interior design is a practice concerning the visual and atmospheric enhancement of an interiorspace. The different uses of a space whether for work or play - are optimised with good interiordesign concepts. There are two categories for interior design in general: residential or commercial.As an industry profession it is quite recent, having begun in the early 20 th century, but the skillsrequired of an interior designer are becoming specialised nowadays, as materials technologyincrease.

    This Resource Guide serves as a guide to help you locate resources on interior design and

    decoration available at the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library as well as on the Internet.

    Search Terms and Call Numbers

    For library materials, a corresponding call number is given for every search term. These callnumbers are assigned based on the Dewey Decimal Classification system, which the Library usesto categorise and shelf its books.
