1 IntroductionThis documentation describes how units from the PETRODAT 3002series function and how they are to be operated. With the PETRODAT 3002 system it is possible to monitor, record andcontrol all the procedures and operations involved in the loading andunloading of mineral oil vehicles of hazard class A1 and A3.These operating instructions are written for the vehicle fleet manager, butthey may also be used as the basis of personnel training measures. In addition to dealing with basic operations, this manual also explains theconfiguration options required to install the individual units in the systemas a whole and it describes operating procedures in delivery mode.Outline instructions with details of all essential operations during a tourare also available for the tanker driver.

Regulations and provisions lose none of their validity when the facility isoperated with PETRODAT units.

PETRODAT units are built with due consideration to the regulationscurrently in force and left the factory in perfect condition. Their installationand maintenance are to be entrusted to properly trained specialists only.

! Make sure that the data and operating conditions specified byBARTEC are observed.

! Follow the instructions for operating and servicing the units.

! If you discover any signs of damage or breakage on any parts of thesystem or if the system’s safe operation cannot be guaranteed for anyother reason, do not start the system or, if already in operation, shutdown the system immediately.Notify your maintenance department.

! Get in touch with our service specialists if you discover any faults ordefects during operation or if you have cause to doubt that the unitsare working properly.

3 System description3.1 Type overview

A key component of the PETRODAT 3002 system of units is thecontroller, which acts as the central control and information unit of theentire system.Communication between the controller and other components within asystem takes place via a serial field bus (P-NET). Controllers areavailable in four different models:

Models Controller, Type 6732-10 (version with numerical keyboard)

Controller Ex, Type 6733-10 (same as 6732-10 but approved forinstallation in Zone 1 hazardousareas)

Controller AN, Type 6742-10 (version with alphanumericalkeyboard)

Controller AN Ex, Type 6743-10 (same as 6742-10 but approved forinstallation in Zone 1 hazardous areas)

To distinguish between the different models the terms “controller” and“controller AN” will be used in the rest of this manual.

In some cases it may be necessary to enter text (e.g. entering acustomer’s address at the beginning of an order or entering a productname and product code during configuration). On AN controllers, textentries are made in exactly the same way as numerical entries. On controllers with a numerical keyboard you must follow a number ofspecial instructions to enter text.

Controllers with a numerical keyboard have no letter keys. When textentries are necessary (for the customer’s address, product name, productcode and unit of quantity), they have to be made therefore in a differentway.

Having selected a field requiring a text entry, you must first press any key(except those softkeys that are assigned a function) in order to call up theentry routine.

If you want to change data subject to statutory calibration, the sealswitch (calibration switch) has to be actuated before you call upconfiguration!Whenever the seal switch is actuated, re-calibration by an officialoffice is compulsory at a charge!

The displays illustrated below are taken from Software Version 1.10.Differences of software status and configuration may mean that thefigures differ slightly from the displays in your system.

An overview of the configuration menu structure as well as instructionson how to access the various configuration levels can be found onpage 6-49.

6 ConfigurationAll the settings preferred for running the control software and required forthe specific system configuration are made with the configuration menus. Most settings can be made after entering passwords which permit accessto specific configuration levels (see 6.1).All the data subject to statutory calibration and all the data of relevancefor running the program can be changed only when the seal switch(calibration switch) is actuated. The seal switch has to be actuated beforeyou call up configuration! The seal switch is to be found at the bottom of the controller and isequipped with a seal pin secured with a lead seal. The lead seal has to bedisconnected and the seal pin removed in order to actuate the sealswitch. You must then turn the seal switch 90/ anticlockwise. When theseal switch is actuated, the display changes to the main menus with aflashing EEEE.

To call up configuration, press the [menu][menu][menu][menu] softkey in the main menu.

If operation of the system is accompanied by errors which cannot beremedied by changing the configuration, it is possible to erase theconfiguration data saved in the various EEPROMs.The entire configuration is thus returned to its initial condition, and allsystem components are marked as deactivated. After you have selected the EEPROM that you want to delete, the systemwill ask before deleting if you are sure. After the EEPROMs are deleted, the system has to be re-configured.

6.2.5 EEPROM menuThis menu is for service purposes. It enables configuration data to becopied from and to a data storage cassette, data to be deleted from a datastorage cassette, and configuration data on the data storage cassette tobe compared with the configuration data in EEPROM of the controller. With the vehicle fleet manager password you are permitted only to writeonto the data storage cassette and to make deletions and comparisons.

The reading of configuration data from the data storage cassette ispossible only when the seal switch is actuated because it is accompaniedby overwriting of the data in EEPROM of the controller.

After you have called up the EEPROM menu, press the [select.l][select.l][select.l][select.l] softkeyseveral times to select the operation you want to perform: read (only withan actuated seal switch), write, clear, compare.

After you have selected "write", enter an Ident No.

After you have confirmed the Ident No., the configuration data will becopied onto the data storage cassette.

ClearClearClearClear

If several files are saved on the data storage cassette, you can first usethe [next][next][next][next] and [back][back][back][back] softkeys to select a file. After selecting andconfirming "clear" you will be asked if you are sure; use the [Yes][Yes][Yes][Yes] softkeyto delete the selected file from the cassette.

After switching on the seal switch or entering the service password youcan prevent the schedule data from being renamed from the start. Thismay be useful for a test or demonstration. Under the precautions as mentioned above appears the question"reuse preset-data?" when starting a tour. If you confirm this questionthe data will be kept unchanged. The service password must be entered again when starting a new tour.

When confirming this menu point the schedule data at the cassette will berenamed to the source format. So you can use the schedule data forseveral trucks.

data capt. When the data capture function is activated, the data ofthe loading operations in the controller’s battery-bufferedmemory is saved and can be viewed and printed until thenext data download.

We recommend switching off the data capture functionif your system is not using the scheduled data function. In this case a journal print-out is produced at the end ofeach tour covering all those tours which have not beenprinted out before. When the data file has been printedout completely, it will be deleted at the start of a tour.

If the wght. mode is activated, the driver hasto enter the density values for the loaded products at thebeginning of a tour. It is also possible, however, to adoptthe configured density at 15/C. The compensatedquantity is calculated on the basis of the entered density. The invoice is based on the price per kg.The wght. mode is prohibited in Germany.

man. add. Activate the “man. add.” option to permit the delivery ofadditives in case form.

The volume counter module and the temperature sensor module eachhave two channels, of which channel 1 is always installed. The channelscan be switched on and off individually.

After calling up the configuration menu for the measuring system interfaceyou are asked to configure the two volume counters, the two temperaturesensors and the I/O module in succession.

The volume counters of the measuring system interface are configured inthe same way as the single volume counters. If the P-NET address isassigned to another volume counter, the latter will have to be changed byentering a different sequence number.

After configuring the 1st volume counter you must configure the 2ndvolume counter in the same way. The sequence number and the serialnumber will have been adopted already from the 1st volume counter andcannot be changed.

When both volume counters are initialized, configure the temperaturesensors.Once again the sequence number and the serial number will have beenadopted already. This entry must be activated by moving the cursor in this field (controllerAN) or pressing of any key (controller) and confirming it.
