Going Home Again By Willie Nelson, Lyrics Bev Keil

One, two

One, two, three, four

Going home again

Just can’t wait to be going home again

A new family that I know will be my friends

I can’t wait to be going home again

Going home again

Sniffing places that I’ve never been

Marking territory in my new domain

I can’t wait to be going home again

Going home again

Knowing I will spend my next eight lives beside you

We’ll be best of friends

I will show you all the tricks that I can now do, for you

Going home again

I just can’t wait to be going home again

It’s very plain, I want back on the gravy train

So I can’t wait to be going home again

Going home again

Like a pack of hounds all howling, I’m bow wowing

We’ll be best of friends

I will show you by my purring, and meowing, yes meowing

Going home again

Just can’t wait to be going home again

To Pet Network I say thanks for the campaign

It worked and now I’m going home again

I can’t wait to be going home again

Welcome to Fur Ball 2015!Going Home Again

Dear Friends,

Nothing brings us more joy than seeing a shelter animal go home with a new forever family.

For some lucky pets this happens within days. Other dogs or cats may stay with us for weeks or months before they are chosen. Occasionally we shelter a special needs animal for years before finding a willing adopter. Eventually every creature will get a second chance home. We never give up on an animal.

Caring for homeless pets takes time, compassion, hard work and plenty of money. Our costs include food, bedding, litter, laundry products, cleaning detergents, veterinary care, spay and neuter surgeries, preventive and remedial medications, microchips, behavioral training, toys and treats; not to mention office supplies. And of course there are electric, gas and water bills, and the usual building maintenance expenses.

We do not receive government funding or other ongoing support. Each year we must raise enough money to cover our expenses. We do this by selling valuable services such as pet boarding and grooming, and by selling pet supplies and other merchandise in our Second Chance Thrift Shop. But most im-portantly, we ask for donations from people like you who care about our lifesaving work.

Thank you so much for attending our 17th Annual Fur Ball fund-raising event this evening. Many of you have supported us over the years, and we hope you know how much we appreciate you. Together we have made a life and death difference for thousands of innocent companion animals.

Sincerely,

Christine Chew Jason StippBoard Chair Executive Director

The Blues Monsters have been taking center stage for over 20 years! A red-hot rockin’ blues band from the North Lake Tahoe and Reno area, The Blues Monsters were voted the #1 blues band in North Lake Tahoe for seven years running. “Blues Access”, a national publication reviewed their 2nd CD, “Live Vibrations”, and it couldn’t be said any better, “this band has all the ingredients for a great show.”

2015 Lifetime Pet Partner AwardSandy Scarsella & Ed BolekySandy Scarsella and Ed Boleky were instrumen-tal in the start of Pet Network and have been generous supporters for many years. Sandy served on the Board of Directors when Pet Network was just getting started, hiring its first employees, and overseeing construction of the building that houses our pets today. She now

serves as a Board Member Emeritus. Sandy and Ed are dedicated to animal rescue and in October 2013, they were adopted by one of our handsome dumpster pups, Brodie. Brodie is now a happy, healthy 75 pounds and spends his winters in Arizona and his summers near Lake Tahoe.

Through Sandy and Ed’s ongoing commitment to Pet Network, they have helped many of our pets find their forever homes.

We are pleased to award them our 2015 Pet Partners of the Year.

In MemoriumWayne Oler

Our 2014 lifetime Pet Partner, Wayne Oler passed away on April 7th. Wayne and his late wife Meriam, along with their adorable dog Sophie, not only built a beautiful life in Incline Village after retiring from a very successful life in the book publish-ing business, but also built their life centered on philanthropy and on their love of animals.

Wayne and Meriam’s generous support of Pet Network has helped us save the lives of hundreds of animals and they have always contributed every time Pet Network needed their support. We want to honor both Wayne and Meriam for their gener-osity and for giving back to their community and to the animals of Pet Network Humane Society. You will be missed.

From Drab to Fab!Pet Network’s Remodeling PlansAfter 15 years, more than 10,000 four-legged residents, thousands of two-legged visitors, and tons of disinfectant and cleaning products, your shelter needs some serious rehab work.

Animals in transition face necessary confinement time. We have learned a lot about housing animals in a safe and healthy environment, and the importance of enrichment activities. Certain limitations of the current building restrict some of the practices we would like to pursue.

This summer we will begin a campaign to raise the funds necessary to complete the much needed work, some of which is listed below:

New flooring through most of the building.

Stripping of molding, cleaning and painting of walls.

Replacement of lighting to energy saving options.

Fencing for safe movement of boarding animals to outside play yard.

Reconfiguration of lobby area to accommodate boarding and veterinary services.

Modular housing for cat colony.

Greater access to outside kennels for dogs.

Coyote roller fencing around outside play yard.
