P R I VATE PROTECTION PLAN Personal Security for High-Profile and High-Wealth Individuals 1. When hiring someone to work in your home it is of utmost importance that you do a thorough background check on them. Simply interviewing and asking for references is not enough for someone who will have daily access to your home and your family. A check of criminal and civil court records should be done for everywhere the person has ever lived, worked or owned property. It is also important to interview associates, former co-workers or employers of the person you are considering hiring who were not selected as references. 2. Many people today conduct business and personal financial transactions from a wide variety of locations and an ever expanding array of electronic devices. In the past, IT security was a concern primarily at the office. Now that zone of protection needs to include home computers, laptops, mobile phones and PDA’s. Millions of dollars have been lost because of confidential business and personal information stolen from unsecured electronic and computer devices. 3. Waste disposal is also a big IT security and identity theft issue. Hard drives are often not properly wiped and financial and personal documents are not shredded before being thrown out. Un-wiped hard drives and sensitive financial and personal documents can provide a wealth of information about you, your personal finances or your businesses. 4. High-wealth individuals, especially those with a public profile, often find that they have more complex physical security issues than the average person. It is impor- tant though, that you have a fully integrated, easy-to-use security plan that actually works for your household. While there are many security options available, every household is unique and it is important that you have a system that is tailored to your needs. The most expensive security systems in the world are useless if they are too complicated for everyone in your household to utilize. 5. Create an emergency plan for your family. A list of emergency phone numbers including family, doctors, police, poison control centers and neighbors should be kept in an easily accessible place in your home, such as the front of a refrigerator or a bul- letin board and on a card in your wallet. Children should memorize basic emergency numbers, your cell phone and office numbers and the phone number of a family member or friend outside the home who has been designated as an emergency contact. A rally point should be selected outside of your home where everyone should gather in case of a fire or emergency. If you have children, you should select a person who could pick your children up from school in case a medical emergency or disaster prevents you from doing so. The school should be given this person’s name and photo so that the school will be pre-authorized to release your child to this person. 6. For people who travel frequently, being financially successful or having a public profile puts them at higher risks for robbery and kidnapping. The most important thing to remember when traveling is to plan ahead. Research secure hotels. Aim for a hotel on a well-trafficked street with neighborhood restaurants and late-night stores. Business districts can often be deserted at night. European chain hotels are preferred as they will have higher security and hygiene standards and may not attract terrorists or criminals who target Americans and American businesses. Use car services instead of using taxis. Dress conservatively, but casually and do not wear expensive jewelry or watches. And make sure that someone at home has your full itinerary, contact information and copies of your passport and visas. 7. Create digital copies of all of your important documents, such as: wills, financial records, insurance policies, passports and deeds. Store the copies somewhere outside of your immediate geographic area, such as with a family member, attorney or in a safe deposit box. In an urgent situation when the original copies are not accessible or have been destroyed, it would be invaluable to have the ability to email these documents to a financial institution, an insurance company or an embassy. These services include:

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS

Performing background investigations on an individual or company can be critical before

making a hiring or business decision. Failure to conduct adequate due diligence can leave your

family and business vulnerable to substantial losses and liabilities. The scope of a background

investigation will generally include verification of the subject's identity, civil and criminal

background checks, name screening on government terrorist and criminal lists, nationwide

bankruptcy search, property search, worldwide media review and a reputation inquiry.

Since 1979, we have performed enhanced due diligence for clients who need comprehensive

background information about new domestic staff, business relationships and prospective

partners. All inquiries and findings are strictly confidential and are pursued in compliance with

applicable law.

These investigations should be utilized for all domestic staff (nannies, maids, butlers,

drivers, cooks, gardeners, pool service personnel) and business associates

(business managers, money managers, accountants).

THE HOME AND OFFICE SECURITY ASSESSMENT

Interfor has perfected a methodology that balances real-world needs with realistic

recommendations. Through years of working with a wide range of high-wealth individuals and

b u s i n e s s e s , we have learned that technological countermeasures and systems are only as

strong as the policies, procedures and training that have been implemented to mitigate

threats. Therefore, our review evaluates and tests the human factors that most security

systems and programs are built upon. In addition, we fortify our recommendations with

scheduled post-testing and evaluations in order to ensure that our recommendations and

warnings have been successfully implemented.

We have developed an extensive system to assess, analyze, report and test areas of potential

and actual vulnerability. The primary objective of the Home and Office Physical Security

Vulnerability Assessment is to observe and analyze areas of potential and/or actual vulnerability,

to define causes, and to recommend means to reduce or eliminate exposure. We ensure that

the assessment will be catered to your individual and specific needs and allow for the most

comprehensive analysis available on the market.

The assessment includes a review of: access control systems and procedures; ingress/egress

procedures, intrusion detection systems; application of electronic control systems; physical

site analysis; control of sensitive and personal information at the premises; identification

procedures; home IT procedures; and policies and procedures for household staff.

Extortion, bribery, kidnapping, identity theft, public exposure—these are,

unfortunately, some of the by-products of fame and fortune in today’s

society. Many people believe that they live quiet, unobtrusive lives,

without ostentation or notoriety, that would not subject them to these

types of situations–but it is your very standing, occupation, associations

and lifestyle that puts you at risk.

Do not become a victim of your wealth and celebrity—our Private Protection Plan gives you and your familythe peace of mind they deserve.

INFORMATION SYSTEMS EVALUATION

A successful information protection program includes a set of effective security

controls that is well-integrated into your everyday activities. Whether your

requirements involve individual applications or a business network, we can provide

the security, systems integration and information technologies that you need.

The most common misperception about information security is that it is acquired

with technology alone. In reality, information security comprises three basic elements:

people, processes and technology. Our solutions encompass these critical elements

of information security.

Security measures must enable you, your family and your staff to function properly

while maintaining control of your operations. Risk can never be completely eliminated;

however, we can help you identify your level of risk tolerance and achieve an

acceptable level of operational confidence. In the end, you must have confidence

that at your level of investment, the risks you have are manageable and that your

controls are implemented efficiently.

PERSONAL PROTECTION CONSULTING

In the global marketplace, the security needs of high-wealth individuals and

executives have become much more sophisticated and in many cases, much more

complex. Interfor is equipped to help our clients meet their changing security

demands. We can provide our clients with strategic protection options in order to

secure meetings, events, public appearances and international travel.

CRISIS MANAGEMENT & THREAT MITIGATION

Interfor works closely with clients to design and implement policies and procedures

for effective management in crisis or sensitive situations. We provide strategic

consulting expertise in situations involving civil, criminal or governmental litigation

and business emergencies. Interfor can also provide investigative resources to

protect clients from internal sabotage and other potential threats.
