Leadership Qualities & Styles Ascribed Leadership vs Attained Leadership
Ascribed Leadership Gained by status Examples include Professional Athletes, Movie Stars &
Musicians High status in our society makes most looked up to as role models How many live up to the status we give them? Are they leaders? In school, how many Ascribed Leaders do we have?
Attained Leadership Gained by performance and hard work! Earned! Great examples include some of the best captains off of Pro

Formal vs Informal Leadership Formal Leadership
Chosen or Assigned leadership roles Typically your captains or assistant captains Typically assigned this position because they demonstrate
leadership qualities Informal Leadership
Not designated as a leader but still shows leadership Anyone who leads without being a designated leader Quite often lead by example Anyone can be this kind of leader These kinds over leaders put their teams over the top

Good leading requires good following Good leading is hard because you have to give of your self To be a good follower you have to believe Are you a good follower when you are not a leader?

Building is 6 times harder to do It takes hard work and perseverance You have to take ownership (buy in) You can not be afraid to fail
The greatest people in the world have failed over and over but learn from each failure

someone else thinks than what they want to get done?
