Warm Up: Reciprocal Reading• Discussing careers is an important concept that you must

start thinking about.• Read the Wall Street Journal Article– In your groups, complete a read-aloud by having one

person at a time read specific sections of the article. Every person must read!

– As you read underline, highlight, or circle some important points and statements that the article presents to you that help you understand the topic better, use these when you write.

– Once finished complete the four parts of the reciprocal reading entry handout. Write in full and complete sentences.

Warm Up: Group Write• Discussing careers is an important concept that you must

start thinking about.• Read the Wall Street Journal Article– In your groups, complete a read-aloud by having one

person at a time read specific sections of the article. Every person must read!

– As the reading progresses I will stop all groups from time to time to discuss what is being read and to also have you answer questions related to the reading.

– Once finished complete the four parts of the journal entry handout. Write in full and complete sentences.

• You will be working together to figure out what kinds of jobs and careers you know already exist and as a group you will create a list. You will also create a personal preference list of jobs that you do not want to have.
