SKILLS AND NATIONAL RECOGNITIONThe CET Skills Recognition process benefits applicants who have undergone prior learning and recognises competencies obtained outside a formal educational or training environment, gained through life or work experience. Competencies currently held by applicants will be formally assessed against each applicable Unit of Competency and maybe recognised regardless of how, when and where they were achieved. Skills Recognition is an assessment process and a cost recovery charge will apply.

CET accepts and provides credit to learners for units of competency and/or modules (unless licensing or regulatory requirements prevent this) where these are evidenced by:

• AQF certification documentation issued by any other RTO or AQF authorised issuing organisation; or

COURSE OVERVIEWThis nationally endorsed course provides training to develop the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. The course includes practical and theoretical training on how to recognise and respond to an emergency situation, how to perform CPR, and communicate incident information to emergency services personnel and supervisory personnel in the workplace.

HLTAID001 PROVIDE CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION

COURSE OVERVIEWThis nationally endorsed course provides participants with the training skills and knowledge to perform rescue procedures from live low voltage (LV) apparatus, not including overhead lines and underground cables, in the work place. It specifies the mandatory requirements of rescue from a live LV panel and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution and rail work functions. It encompasses responsibilities for health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels and the adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work.

The skills and knowledge described in this course may require a licence or registration to practice in the work place subject to regulations for the undertaking of electrical work. Practice in the work place and during training is subject to regulations directly related to Occupational Health and Safety, electricity, telecommunications, gas and/or water industry safety and compliance, environmental protection, anti-discrimination and training. Commonwealth, State, Territory and/or Local Government legislation and regulations may exist that limits the age of operating certain equipment.

COURSE DURATION8 hours. COURSE REQUIREMENTSThe core units of competency must be achieved.

Fully enclosed shoes must be worn at all times in CET buildings.

Safety boots/shoes must be worn when working in the workshop.

Refer to the Code of Conduct on the College website www.cet.asn.au for details on dress code. COURSE MATERIALSIt is recommended but not essential that applicants provide the following text:
