Work Instruction Purpose

The PeopleSoft Query Viewer can be utilized to view query output in Excel, HTML. PS Query Viewer allows users to schedule a Query to run at a future time.

Procedure Steps

A. To obtain access to Query Viewer:

Main Menu Reporting Tools Query Query Viewer

1. Go to Reporting tools

2. Select Query

3. Select Query Viewer

4. Click on “Advanced Search” to refine your search.

5. Enter search term(s) in the applicable box(es)

Tip: Select “contains” from the dropdown list to maximize the search results (default = “begins with”)

6. Searching on “Description – Contains: TRIAL” yields eight results

7. Click on “Favorite” to add the query to your Favorites list that appears on the landing page of Query Viewer

8. Click on the “Excel” hyperlink to run the query to Excel

9. Input the relevant chartfield values then select “View Results” button

10. Click on “Save”

11. Click on “Open” to launch the report in Excel
