The First World Conqueror• Though referred to as

a “conqueror”, Alexander’s main focus was not the overtaking of countries

• He sought to unite the East and West (Europe and Asia)

• Wanted to be thought of as having divine power and good will to unify Europe

The Empire of The Roman People

• The monarchy of Alexander was considered to be the first European Empire.

• Almost all nations today resemble the Roman Empire in at least one way or another.

• The Roman Empire not only meant the government itself, but also a way of living

• People, as citizens of Rome, were to be called Romans, not Egyptians or Gauls, or Catholics
