Must See & DoATHENS TIPS

Corinth – Mycenae Full day tour to the ancient city of Corinth (83km), which was considered the richest city of the ancient world as it was the most impor-tant commercial center. There we will see the Apollo temple, the Peirene Fountain, we will go to the ancient city of Mycenae (41km) at Argolis area and we will see the tomb of Atreus, the Cyclopean Walls, the Lions Gate and the Archaeological Museum. We will continue on to Epidaurus and visit the ancient theatre. This UNESCO’S world heritage monu-ment is probably most famous for its theatre, one of the best preserved classical Greek buildings, and still used today due to its amazing acoustics. We will have lunch and then return (119km) to the hotel in the

DelphiFull day tour to Delphi (177km). Arriving at the archaeological site of Delphi, the most famous oracle of Ancient Greece where Pythia was giving her oracles. According to the Greek mythology, Delphi was the "Navel of Earth". We will visit the Temple of Apollo, the Treasury of the Athenians, the Delphi Archaeological Museum and the ancient Theatre. Next, we will visit the picturesque Arachova (10km), one of the most beautiful villages of Greek countryside with its traditional shops, cafes and taverns with a unique view of the landscape where you can enjoy your lunch. After Arachova, we will go to a slope of Mount Helicon where is the monastery of Saint Loukas.

It is one of the most important monuments of Middle Byzantine art and architecture and it is listed in World Heritage sites of UNESCO. We will have lunch and then return (168km) to the hotel in the evening.

Lycabettus: Twilight is the best time to venture up this abrupt peak. Lycabettus stands high above Athens, commanding a clear view across the Attica basin and the Aegean. There is also a superb café from where you can enjoy the view. Benaki Museum: ranks among the major institutions that have enriched the material assets of the Greek state. Through its exten-sive collections that cover several dierent cultural elds and its more general range of activities serving more than one social need, the Benaki Museum is perhaps the sole instance of a complex structure within the broader network of museum foundations in Greece.Gazi district: Famous for its bar life. Also, around the metro at Kerameikos cluster countless eateries, music venues and art spaces. Dominating the skyline is the gasworks turned Technopolis, a vast mixed-

Psiri district: You should not overlook Psiri with its endless small streets of cafes, ouzer-ies, restaurants, bars, clubs, theatres and galleries, all within a minute's walk from Athinas and Ermou streets or Monastiraki square. Psiri came of age as the center of Athens nightlife during the 2004 Olympics, and regardless of what people say about its commercialism, you won't nd a cooler place to be in any city in Europe or America. You can feel the buzz as you walk past cafes and taverns in Iroon Square.

Monastiraki Flea Market: It is not really a ea market in the way most of us think of them, except for Sunday when people seem to come from the hills to lay out their blankets and sell all sorts of stu . It is worth the experi-ence even if you just sit in the cafes overlook-ing the ancient agora and the metro tracks on Adrianou Street watching the parade of shoppers and street musicians. During the

of tourist shops, clothing stores, fur and jewelry stores dotted with some pretty interesting shops, especially if you like vintage vinyl and rare CDs. Monastiraki Square is still one of the most lively squares in Athens and at night it is lled with young people and street venders.

National Gardens: When you decide you need a break from the city hustle, visit the National Gardens, located right in the center of Athens. It is an eclectic, but serene scene. There is a playground to keep the kids occupied, a café to keep everyone hydrated and a duck pond (inhabited by an army of ducks looking for some bread handouts). The National Gardens are open daily, and entrance is free.

Whatever style of holiday you prefer, in Rhodes you will have an amazing time and will enjoy every minute of it. Combining, history and culture, natural beauty, cosmopolitan atmosphere and legendary hospitality, Rhodes will amaze you. You cannot miss the Medieval city, Lindos and of course the pebbled beaches with crystal waters.

7 daysDay 1: Athens – RhodesDay 2: Guided tour in the town of RhodesDay 3: Kameiros – Filerimos – the Valley of ButteriesDay 4: Lindos – KallitheaDay 5: Marmarida – Turkey West Coast (optional)Day 6: Beaches of Rhodes (optional)Day 7: Rhodes – Athens

The Acropolis of Lindos is one of the most important historical sites on the island along with ancient Kameiros and Rhodes Old Town (walled medieval city). Here laid the Colossus of Rhodes, which was considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This giant bronze statue was documented as once

ASTYPALAIAWhen the only sound to break your thoughts is the solitary coo of a wood pigeon, you know you've discovered a place under the tourist radar. Swathed in silk aquamarine waters, far-ung, buttery-shaped Astypalea is richly rewarding for walkers, camp-ers and history bus. An island hunter's ultimate escape; think mountainous meadows straight from the pages of Homer, and rugged beaches fringed in gas-blue turquoise.

AMORGOSDramatic Amorgos lies on the distant, southeastern arc of the Cyclades, pointing the way towards the Dodecanese. As you approach by sea, its long ridge of mountains appears to stretch ever skyward, the high summits often scarfed with plump purple clouds. Amorgos is much more about archaeology and activities than beaching – there’s great walking, scuba diving and a burgeoning rock-climbing scene.

FOLEGANDROSFolegandros lies on the southern edge of the Cyclades with the Sea of Crete sweeping away to its south. The island has a bewitching beauty that's amplied by its alluring cli-top Hora, one of the most appealing villages in the Cyclades. The remoteness and ruggedness of the island made it a place of exile for political prisoners from Roman times to the 20th century, and as late as the military dictatorship of 1967–74. Today, the seductive charm of Folegandros has left its grim history behind.

The cradle of European Civilization - the Island of Crete and its genuinely friendly people, will make you feel at home. Home of the Minoan civilization, it will not disappoint you with its diversity of the landscape – the rugged mountains, the endless beaches and the turquoise seas, the many cities, towns and villages, and the stunning countryside.

7 days:Day 1: Athens – HeraklionDay 2: Guided tour to KnossosDay 3-6: Free time to enjoy the wonderful beaches of the islandDay 7: Heraklion - Athens

Knossos is the largest Bronze Age archaeological site on Crete and is considered Europe's oldest city. The palace of Knossos was excavated and partially restored under the direction of Arthur Evans in the earliest years of the 20th century and it was undoubt-edly the ceremonial and political centre of the Minoan civilization and culture.
