The History

• The Pentagon serves as the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense. As one of the world's largest office buildings, it has a floor space of 3,705,793 square feet, or three times that of the Empire State Building in New York. The Pentagon houses a daily working population of approximately 24,000 employees, both military and civilian.
