Pemimpin Pasar di dalam Produk Perawatan bayi
PT.

Sampai 3Q11, kinerja keuangan MICE semakin baik.
konsumsi. Lingkungan ekonomi yang lebih kondusif tersebut memicu
tingginya daya beli masyarakat.

dikarenakan penurunan ekonomi global.
Tabel 2: Indikator Pertumbuhan Ekonomi

PT Pigeon Indonesia: Sertifikat AS/NZS ISO 9001:2001 dari SAI Global
Limited Australia.

Penjualan Produk-Produk Bayi Terus Meningkat
proyeksi kami sebelumnya sebesar Rp 410 miliar.

mengelola persediaannya terbukti efektif.

Gambar 6: Marjin EBITDA MICE

Market Leader in Baby Care Product
PT. Multi Indocitra, Tbk ("MICE") was established on January 11th 1990, in which engages in producing and distributing health care products and accessories for the needs of baby, pregnant women and breast feeding mothers and skin care products. The products are manufactured in a modern factory which located in Cikande, Banten. Accessories for baby are produced by its subsidiary, PT. Pigeon Indonesia, which also produces feeding bottle and silicon nipple under the brand name of “Pigeon”. While
powder, shampoo, liquid soap for babies, kids and teenagers are also
produced by its subsidiary, PT. Multielok Cosmetic. In order to pursue higher revenue growth and better diversification, MICE developed new business line by selling Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) under the brand of “HORI”, in which has been commercially distributed in most areas of Indonesia since mid-2010. Also in the same year of its distribution,
“HORI” brand got the top rank in term of quality form SWA magazine. Thanks to its superb historical performance, MICE has received the award from Forbes Indonesia magazine as Top 40 Best Emerging Companies in September 2011. Through more than 20-year experience plus its strong brand equity, MICE is currently known as market leader in baby care product.

The Biggest Local Brand in Baby Care Product
In general, MICE classifies its products into 2 (two) categories namely: baby accessories and skin care products for baby, children, teenager, pregnant and breastfeeding mother. From those products, the biggest
contributions to MICE’s total revenue come from feeding bottle and baby’s silicon nipple. In the past five years, the sales of feeding bottle and baby’s silicon nipple with the brand “Pigeon” have about 54% market share in national level. As of 2010, sales from feeding bottle and silicon nipple was Rp 164 bn or around 39% of MICE’s revenue at the period. By looking at stronger purchasing power in Indonesia, well-
known “Pigeon” brand equity, high qualty products, modern production facilities, wide selling coverage and integrated distribution networks, we are confidence that feeding bottle and baby’s silicon nipple could grow by 23% YoY in 2011 or reach Rp 200 bn. Getting Better in Financial Performance Up to 3Q11, MICE’s financial performance is continually getting better.
It is evidenced by its sales which grew by 10% YoY to reach Rp 337 bn,
compared to the same period last year which only Rp 306 bn. In term of profitability, its gross margin also increased to 55.68% in 3Q11, from 54.52% in 3Q10. Surge in MICE’s gross margin was mainly due to better inventory management which causes the declining of COGS margin to its total sales. As recorded in 3Q11, the COGS margin to its total sales became 44.32%, dropped from 45.48% in 3Q10.
Expanding New Product and Business Line to Boost Growth In 2010, MICE has developed new business line namely Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) under the brand name of “HORI”. Currently, MICE has more than 38 “HORI” distributors which scatter in Java, Sumatera and Kalimantan. In the first year of its distribution or in
2010, “HORI” generated Rp 35 bn or contribute around 8% to MICE’s total revenue. In line with the soaring demand of lamp that is predicted to grow by 15% YoY or reach 300 mn units in 2011, we estimate “HORI” sales could jump by 20% YoY in 2011 or reach Rp 42 bn. Besides that, MICE also distributed new baby bottle that contains of
free Bisphenol A (BPA) starting from early 2011. From May – July 2011, sales of BPA-free bottle have reached Rp 3.5 bn, and by the end of
2011, we expect its sales will meet around Rp 7 bn. We believe the introduction of BPA-free bottle will not need to take much time since “Pigeon” is currently known as the biggest brand of baby care product in Indonesia. Business Prospect Along with Indonesian economy that is expected to book around 6.2%
YoY growth in 2012, the expected GDP per capita will also rise to US$ 3,500, in which creates higher disposable income for Indonesian people. Ability to afford more necessities creates improving demand for many products, as well as consumer goods. Such more conducive economic environment will trigger high purchasing power of society. Thus, it gives positive effect to all industry sectors such as baby care
industry. Moreover, the increasing population in Indonesia will run
constantly with high demand of baby care products. We believe that global economy downturn will not hamper MICE’s performance since around 86% of its total sales is for domestic market. While the new MICE business line namely “HORI”, is expected to book sales growth of 20% YoY in 2011 in line with keep increasing demand for domestic lamp. By such argument and augmented with strong “Pigeon” brand
equity, we estimate MICE could generate revenue as much as Rp 502 bn in 2011 or grow by 19% YoY, and 18% CAGR for 2011 – 2015 periods.

Growth-Value Map provides overview of market expectations for the companies
listed on IDX. Current Performance (“CP”) metric, running along the horizontal axis, is a portion of current stock market value that can be linked to the
perpetuity of current company’s performance in profitability. Growth Expectations (“GE”) metric, plotted on the vertical axis, is the difference between current stock market value and the value of current performance. Both metrics are normalized by the company’s book value. Growth-Value Map divides companies into four clusters, they are:
Excellent Value Managers (“Q-1”) Market expects companies in Q-1 to surpass their benchmark in profitability and growth.
Expectation Builders (“Q-2”) Market has relatively low expectations of profitability from companies in Q-2 in the short term, but has growth expectations exceed the benchmark.
Traditionalists (“Q-3”) Market has low growth expectations of companies in the Q-3, although they showed a good profitability in the short term.
Asset-loaded Value Managers (“Q-4”)
Market has low expectations in terms of profitability and growth for companies in Q-4.
Figure 1: Growth Value Map of MICE
Source: Bloomberg, Pefindo Equity & Index Valuation Division
According to MICE’s performance as of September 30th, 2011, we classify MICE in
the Expectation Builders’ cluster (quadrant 2). It indicates market has relatively low profit expectations from MICE in the short term, but has relatively
high growth expectation. We believe that MICE’s higher growth expectation is due to its expansion in new business line namely “HORI”, in which has superb performance in its first year sales. MICE has opportunity to move to Excellent Value Managers’ cluster (quadrant 1) by three ways: strengthen its internal growth capabilities, doing actions to drive market perceptions of its economic
success and regularly update its significant information to public.

Indonesia’s Economic Outlook 2012: Strengthening Domestic Demand
The economic expansion accelerated to 6.54% QoQ in 3Q11, better than last period namely 6.52% QoQ and 6.1% YoY in 2Q11 and 2010, respectively.
Domestic demand, continued to be the back bone of the economy as its expanded 5.4% QoQ in 3Q11, faster than the growth of 5.2% QoQ in 3Q10, led by robust growth in consumption and improving investment spending. Meanwhile, the external demand was still favorable for Indonesia, despite faltering global economic growth momentum throughout the year. Net exports expanded 64.1% YoY in 3Q11 faster than 14.1% YoY in 2010 thanks to increasing exports to other Asian countries that are relatively still in better shape, and because the majority
of its exports are primary commodities that are less sensitive to global economic slowdown. For 2012, we see that Indonesia’s fundamental conditions will still be solid although we expect the economic growth will slightly fall to 6.2% YoY due to global economic downturn. Among other G-20 countries, Indonesia is expected to post the third fastest growth after China and India (according the IMF forecast).
We see that private consumption will remain as the main growth engine next
year backed by continued optimism among consumers, manageable inflation, lower interest rates, and increasing per-capita income. Moreover, robust demand is also supported by the fact that our demographic structure is now dominated by productive age or of which 60% of the populations are between 15 – 54 years old. Indonesian income is also expected to double from US$3,000 per capita in
2010 to US$ 6,000 in the next 6 years helped by robust economic growth.
Table 2: Economic Growth Indicators
Source: Various source processed by Pefindo Equity & Index Valuation Division
Bright Outlook of Baby Care Industry In line with above paragraph about Indonesia’s economy outlook, we view that baby care industry has brighter prospect ahead. Some factors that support baby
care industry are: (i) Huge population in Indonesia which is predicted to hit 241 mn people in 2011 provides a massive demand of baby care products, (ii) The
growing of national GDP will run constantly with high purchasing power and it may definitely give positive impact to baby care industry in selling the products, (iii) Indonesia is relatively strong against the global economic downturn, thus it will not much affect domestic sales, and (iv) Many of imported baby care products from China, America and Europe will not threaten local products since the imported product is targeting high-class consumer. Through above factors, MICE has enjoyed revenue growth by CAGR 17% during 2008 – 2010 periods.
And for 2011 – 2013 periods, we estimate MICE’s revenue could grow by CAGR 18%.

The Only Listed Company that Engages in Baby Care Products Since 2005, MICE has been listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This action reflects MICE’s seriousness in developing its business and introducing its identity
to public. Among many local and foreign players in this industry, MICE is the only listed company that engage in baby care products. Through long experience and and underpinned by “Pigeon” brand, currently MICE takes dominant position in baby care industry with around 52% market share.
Rising Indonesia Population and Welfare Triggers Growing Demand of Baby Care Products
As Indonesian population reached 237 mn people in 2010 or grew by 2.7% YoY, and predicted to hit 241 mn people in 2011, makes the demand of baby care products also improving. And augmented with 6.5% YoY of GDP growth that is expected to continue up to the end of 2011, or equivalent to Rp 7,400 tn. Through huge Indonesia population that is expected to reach 241 mn people by
the end of 2011 and the income per capita for Indonesian people around US$ 3,500, higher than 2010 period which was only US$ 3,005, we believe the
demand of baby care products will remain strong.

reach Rp 200 bn. We believe MICE will enjoy satisfactory sales growth in the years ahead in line with huge population and strong purchasing power in Indonesia. Through long experience in this industry and augmented with well-
known brand in market, we believe MICE could maintain its domination in baby care products.
Providing High-Quality Products One important factor that makes MICE can retain the biggest market share in its industry is due to the quality of its products. The manufacturing of Pigeon products, which is carried out by the subsidiary and affiliated company have been carefully checked for its quality to make sure that the quality standard which is stipulated by Pigeon Corporation of Japan are followed. PT. Multielok Cosmetics
and PT. Pigeon Indonesia have obtained some certifications, namely:
PT. Multielok Cosmetics: Certification AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000 from SAI Global Limited Australia, Certification for Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) from the Indonesian Medicines and Food Supervisory Body
PT. Pigeon Indonesia: Certification AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000 from SAI
Global Limited Australia.

13.8%, Central Java of 9.4%, West Java of 8.2%, Kalimantan of 7.3%, Sulawesi of 6.7%, Bali and Nusa of 4.5%. In line with the improving economic growth in

Baby Products Sales Keep Increasing The actual MICE’s sales in 2010 that reached Rp 423 bn has exceeded our
previous projection, which was Rp 410 bn. It is due to high demand of baby care product in line with keep increasing population in Indonesia. Moreover, Indonesia
has booked better economic growth, in which around 6.5% YoY up to 3Q11, thus it trigger high purchasing power of the society. Such factors have impacted MICE’s performance with its main products feeding bottle and silicon nipple, which grew by 24% YoY to become Rp 164 bn in 2010. Meanwhile, baby toiletries depicted the highest growth of 139% YoY to reach Rp 41 bn. Later in 2011, we estimate feeding bottle and silicon nipple grew by 23% YoY or reach Rp 200 bn, while baby toiletries is also predicted to grow 23% YoY to reach Rp 50 bn.
Supported by huge population and strong purchasing power in Indonesia, we predict feeding bottle and silicon nipple as well as baby toiletries could grow by 17% CAGR and CAGR 20% respectively in 2011 – 2015 periods.

Booked Faster Inventory Turnover In manufacturing industry, the ability to convert the inventory to sales value determines company success. And MICE’s effort in managing its inventory is proved to be effective. Therefore, MICE can keep low working capital for
inventory as a result of faster inventory turnover from time to time. For example in 3Q11, MICE recorded its inventory turnover as long as 145 days, much lower than the same period last year which was 173 days. And thanks to faster inventory turnover, MICE could book 10% YoY revenue growth in 3Q11. In line with soaring demand of baby care products in domestic, we believe MICE is able to maintain its low inventory turnover in the years to come.
Diversification of Baby Feeding Bottles that Contains of Free Bisphenol A
(BPA) MICE has started to distribute its new product namely BPA-free bottle this year. This bottle is produced to fulfill the increasing demand of baby products in market as keep growing population in Indonesia. As a market leader in baby bottle, we estimate that MICE will not take much time to introduce it to society. From May –
July 2011, sales of BPA-free bottle has reached Rp 3.5 bn. Through wide opportunity in domestic market and augmented with strong “Pigeon” brand, we believe by the end of 2011, this product is able to generate Rp 7 bn. More Efficient with Better EBITDA Margin MICE’s EBITDA margin shows an increasing trend, in which indicates as MICE’s ability to getting more efficient on its operational activity. In 3Q11, MICE booked
the EBITDA margin of 14.70% or reach Rp 49 bn, rise from the same period last year which was only 13.46% or around Rp 41 bn.

Lower COGS Margin Made MICE’s Gross Margin Better MICE’s ability to be more efficient by minimizing the cost of goods sold (COGS) proved to be effective. As shown by its financial report in 3Q11, MICE posted 10% YoY of sales growth or reach Rp 337 bn, while the COGS growth at the period was only 7%. Such better efficiency was mainly due to fewer raw
materials used by MICE in 3Q11. It is evidenced by the declining of COGS margin to MICE’s total sales, in which became 44.32% in 3Q11, from 45.48% in 3Q10. Therefore, MICE could record gross profit growth as many as 12.20% YoY to reach Rp 187 bn in 3Q11. And in 2011, we estimate that MICE could book 18% YoY gross profit growth or around Rp 272 bn.

Well-Performed of “HORI” Amid the Tight Competition
The national consumption of CFL is predicted to reach 300 mn units in 2011,
edge up by 15% compared to 2010 which was only 261.25 mn units. It is caused by the increasing of national lamp demand in line with free-power program from State Electrical Company. However, ACFTA agreement made the competition is getting tighter and also the imported products got free import duties. In Indonesia, the biggest supplier of CFL comes from China. In 2006 – 2010 periods, the import of CFL grew by CAGR 34%, from 56.94 mn units in 2006 to 161.24 mn units in 2010.
Nevertheless, amid the tight competition, the sales of “HORI” is actually getting better. It is evidenced by its sales which has earned around Rp 35 bn in its first year distribution or contribute of 8% to MICE’s total revenue in 2010. Along with

massive demand of CFL in domestic market, we estimate “HORI” could enjoy sales growth of 20% YoY in 2011 or reach Rp 42 bn. Currently, “HORI” has the installed capacity as many as 7.2 mn units per year. Due to its superb historical
performance, “HORI” brand is on the top rank in term of quality according to SWA magazine version in 2010. Moreover, “HORI” is equipped by certification
from Indonesian National Standard, which certifies the quality of “HORI”. We believe that “HORI” has promising prospect since this product already got positive response in market.
Appropriate Marketing Strategy to Gain Potential Areas
In order to maintain customer’s loyalty to its products, MICE has promoted to various hospitals to socialize the “Pigeon” products to the society. MICE is also active in sponsoring various social activities and business activities. The distributors are actively involved in these marketing activities in their area. This proved to be effective in increasing MICE sales. As recorded, MICE sales always rise every year. From 2008 to 2010, MICE booked sales growth of CAGR 17%. This growth may increase since there are some potential places in Indonesia,
such as Sumatera which has the highest population growth rate of 5% per year,
followed by Java 2.79% and Bali 2.5%.

MICE’s Business Prospect
More conducive economic environment in Indonesia trigger high purchasing power of society. Thus, it brings positive effect to all industry sectors such as baby care industry. Besides that, the increasing population in Indonesia will run
constantly with high demand of baby care products. While the new MICE business line namely “HORI”, is expected to book sales growth of 20% YoY in 2011 in line with keep increasing demand for domestic CFL. By such argument and augmented with strong “Pigeon” brand equity, we estimate MICE could generate revenue as much as Rp 502 bn in 2011 or grow by 19% YoY, and CAGR 18% for 2011 – 2015 periods.

VALUATION
Methodology We apply Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) method as the main valuation approach considering the income growth is the value driver for MICE instead of the asset growth. We do not combine DCF method with Guideline Company Method (GCM) as
there is no similar company eligible to be compared with MICE in the IDX. This valuation is based on 100% MICE shares price as of January 13th, 2012, using MICE’s financial report as of September 30th, 2011, for our fundamental analysis.
Value Estimation
We use Cost of Capital of 14.6% and Cost of Equity of 16.5% based on the following assumptions:
