ITINERARYMay 6 – Pella Tulip FestivalMeet your Moostash Joe Tour Director and Driver this morning at one of our many convenient pick-up points as we make our way towards Pella, IA! Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious lunch at Trinity Reformed Church before making our way to the festival. You may think most Midwestern towns are pretty much the same, but wait until you see Pella! It’s a community of charm and character. Antiques, unusual imports and some of the most beautiful tulips in the world make visiting Pella almost like taking a quick trip to Holland! Enjoy the beauty and magic of spring during the annual Pella Tulip Festival. The tulips in Pella are intentionally planted to be at their absolute best during Tulip Time! Enjoy reserved seats to the Pella Stage and Street Performances followed by the Parade, along with free time to wander Pella’s many unique shops and festival activities. After the festivities, we make our way over to Ottumwa, IA where we’ll be overnight and to have an evening meal on your own. (L)

May 7 – Kalona, Iowa Amish Tour with Family-Style FeastEnjoy the morning drive over to Kalona, IA – one of the largest Amish settlements west of the Mississippi River. Here, take some time to enjoy the quaint downtown area shops and cafes before meeting our local tour guide for a guided tour of the Kalona area and countryside. Enjoy a greeting of coffee and homemade strudel before our tour, which includes four different demonstrations as well as a delicious home-cooked meal served “family-style” in a Conservative-Mennonite home. It’s also a great opportunity to learn about the customs and lifestyles of the various Amish and Mennonite groups in the Kalona area. After dinner we take the short drive to Cedar Rapids, IA where we’ll spend the night. (B, D)

May 8 – Amana Colonies / Return HomeAfter breakfast, head out to the renowned Amana Colonies for some free time to walk, shop and dine in this picturesque town in central Iowa. There’s certainly something for everyone here in Amana! Later today, say goodbye to your Moostash Joe Tour Director, Driver and newly made friends with many fond memories of Pella, Kalona and Amana as you arrive back at your initial pick-up points this evening.
