Attention all guardians/ parent and students! Now is the time to make your course changes for semester 2. Courses are starting to fill up quickly, so if you're thinking of making a change, please make an appointment with your guidance counsellor as soon as possible. When semester 2 begins, course changes will be limited

Message from Homework Club
It is time for the Homework Club to start up again. If your child is looking for a supportive environment in which to complete homework, or work on assignments, the homework club is the place to be. We meet Tuesdays and Thursdays
after school in the library. All students are welcome. A staff supervisor will be there to help with ideas and time management issues. If you have any questions, please email [email protected]. Mrs. Wheatley (see page 9).

Lost and Found
If your child has lost any small items (i.e. Pandora bracelet, other jewelry, cell phone, keys, eye glasses) please have them come to the main office to claim them.
ATTENDANCE REMINDER Parents/Guardians are reminded to report all late or absent notices to the Attendance Office by calling 905-294-1886, option 1 or emailing [email protected]. Should your student be absent for more than 3 days, an extended absence form must be signed by each subject teacher, parent/guardian and the Vice-Principal prior to leaving on vacation.

Message from DECA
The York Region Competition is behind us. Markham District HS has 51 students who have qualified to compete at the Provincial Competition from February 8-10, 2018 at the Sheraton Centre in Toronto. Qualifiers have now received an information letter outlining how to register and submit payment through Cash Online. Once this commitment has been made, students will attend a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, January 6 to receive the package of required Field Trip Forms. Training for all members is continuing throughout December.

Ski & Snowboard Club Students should have already brought home a cover sheet outlining all excursions (dates, times, venues). All forms and waivers can be downloaded from a Google Classroom. All fees, forms and waivers must be paid/submitted by the holi-days as the first outing is scheduled for Thursday, January 11. Click on the School Cash Online button on our school’s website at http://MarkhamDistrict.HS.yrdsb.ca/ and select the “Get Started Today” button.
Complete each of the three Registration Steps
*For Security Reasons your password, requires 8 characters, one uppercase letter, one lowercase let ter and a number.
Step 2: Confirmation Email
A registration confirmation email will be automati-cally forwarded to you. Click on the link provided inside the email to confirm your email and School Cash Online account. The confirmation link will open the School Cash Online site prompting you to sign into your account. Use your email address and pass-word just created with your account.
Step 3: Find Student NOTE: A STUDENT NUMBER IS REQUIRED This step will connect your children to your account.
Enter the School Board Name Enter the School Name Enter Your Child’s Student # and Last Name Select Continue On the next page confirm that you are related to the child, check in the Agree box and select Continue Your child has been added to your account
Step 4: View Items or Add Another Student
If you have more children, select “Add Another Student” option and repeat the steps above. 5 children can be added to one parent account. If you do not wish to add additional children, select “View Items For Students” option. A listing of available items for purchase will be displayed.
