PEDIATRIC RESIDENCY PROGRAM
Through the Brooks Institute of Higher Learning (IHL), we offer a Pediatric Physical Therapy Residency Program that continues education and training to the highest level in the profession. The residency is a one-year program that incorporates vigorous class study, clinical mentoring and supervision, and other directed learning activities. The program prepares residents to successfully become Board-Certified in Pediatrics, which means your child receives the best care possible.
MULTIPLE LEVELS OF CAREThe Brooks Pediatric Program provides services to children with any limitation or disability at any age. We help to restore function, increase independence and improve quality of life.
Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital combines state-of-the-art equipment with a playful environment in our colorful children’s wing. Our holistic support includes medical care, therapy services, transitional school services, recreation and outings. Parents are encouraged to stay with their child throughout their treatment stay so our rooms feature a pull-out couch and family space to play games as you would in your own home.
Brooks Outpatient Rehabilitation has an extensive network of pediatric clinics, offering multi-disciplinary services (occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language pathology). Our patients may have diagnosed conditions such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida and autism spectrum disorder, as well as general developmental delays and undiagnosed limitations in communication or mobility.
Specialty clinics like the Motion Analysis Center, Neuro Recovery Centers (NRC) and the Wheelchair Clinic use the latest technology to maximize a child’s recovery. The NRCs offer the latest technology to help kids improve their balance and coordination. Our Motion Analysis Center uses infra-red laser technology to help therapists better understand how muscle and joint activity impacts physical movement.
