Infections projects a major threat to young children for different reasons:

Children especially under the age of 3 are easily affected, since their immune system are not developed fully and they use to fall down more frequently, opening the skin to infection.

Infections spread quickly in children through circulation and bone structure. Damage to joints and bones caused by infection can affect childs growth and may lead to physical disability.

Causes

The primary reason for these infections are bacteria presenf in the living environment. General bacteria that causes joint, bone and muscle infection amng children is staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

There are many ways in which the bacteria can get into the human body. They just circulates in the stream of blood until it is settled in a bone, joint or muscle. Once it leaves the blood stream they accumulate in joint , bone or muscle tissues.

Deep infections mostly affect the Hip, knee and ankle joints of shoulder, elbow and legs and wrist joints. Deep muscle infections hits at the locations of large muscle groups of thighs, pelvis and groins. Strong blood flow to these locations are the causes for the infection. The growth centre near to the end of the bone receved high stream of blood. This give way to grow the bacteria in these areas.

Symptoms and Signs

Children who have infection on bone structure or joints or muscles often have fever, pain, and limited movement of infected area, refuse to have food, vomitting etc..

It is important to bring your children to a consultant immediately if the symptoms are not showing any improvement.
