Course Description

This medical education activity is intended for pediatricians,pediatric residents, family practitioners, emergency physicians,nurse practitioners and clinical staff working with pediatric patients.

The conference will address current research, therapies, and clinical outcomes. The conference is appropriate for practitioners in both a community or hospital setting. Any health professional interested in the care of pediatric patients is welcome.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

Protracted Post-Concussion Syndrome▪ Identify post-concussion syndrome.▪ Recall the average time course of a post-concussion syndrome.▪ Recognize when to order further testing.▪ Manage concussion patients to functioning in a graded fashion.▪ Describe factors that may prolong concussion symptoms.

CBD Oil▪ Specify the current indications for CBD oil, its benefits and side effects.

Child and Adolescent Knee Pain▪ Identify common causes of knee pain in children and adolescents.▪ Incorporate basic treatment for common knee pain complaints.▪ Identify when to refer knee pain to a specialist.

Behavioral Health Integration to the Primary Care Setting▪ Describe how effective integrated healthcare models benefit patients and providers.▪ Describe why it is important to address behavioral, social, and physical health in the primary care setting.
