On Tuesday the 31st of January 2017, Dr Katrien Hertog from IAHV U.K. and Dr Nisreen Al Otaibi
from IAHV Jordan, kicked off our upcoming project 'Healing, Non Violent Empowerment and
Preventing Extremism Project' by conducting a discussion panel to address the needs of the Syrian
refugees along with the Jordanian members of the host community.

Attendees included the Director of Syrian Refugees Affairs, representatives from the Ministry of Culture, program managers from Save the Children- Jordan, Jordan River Foundation (JRF), The Islamic Center Charity Society, Noor Al Hussein Foundation - Institute for Family Health, International Relief and Development, Madrasati Initiative, and Terres des Hommes within the community, what the causes were, what kinds of services are being provided to target that type of violence and where the gaps exist.

In order to make sure IAHV reaches the children most in need of trauma relief, coping techniques and empowerment, the team consulted key organisations who
have been working in the camp since the beginning.

Visiting different Embassies in Amman to raise awareness about IAHV's innovative, effective and
scalable peacebuilding approach and explore cooperation and synergies with ongoing programs
and priority areas in Jordan. There was a lot of interest expressed in our programs through
engaging and informative conversations!
