One Rotary, One District, One Blood

To ensure blood supply for those in need, the Rotary District 3860 has once again

conducted a bloodletting activity in coordination with the Red Cross.

Blood donation is a heroic act which benefits recipients from different places who direly

need blood. This is a voluntary procedure that can help save lives of others. Millions of

people need blood transfusions each year.

This has been a regular annual activity of different Rotary districts all over the Philippines

who coordinate with private and public sectors in order to gather bags and gallons of

blood that will be stored in the blood bank of the Red Cross for future use.

In this week’s cover, we have proof that our very own club president Annabelle Eve R.

Sator donated blood during the Area 2D grand bloodletting of District 3860 held last July

27, 2019 at the CityMall Atrium in Tagum City. She is surrounded by healthy and equally

beautiful but disqualified donors who are very supportive members of the Rotary Club of

Tagum Golden LACES. Also in photo is our Assistant Governor Rae Kara Malbog, who

headed the preparations for the activity.

The said bloodletting activity was participated by four (4) other clubs within the area:

Rotary Club of Tagum, Rotary Club of Tagum North, Rotary Club of Panabo, and Rotary

Club of Compostela Valley. Out of the ninety (90) volunteers, forty-nine (49) passed the

screening process and have successfully donated blood.

The smiles and cheers of our members surely made this year’s experience memorable as

only our dear Club President has successfully donated blood in behalf of LACES. Indeed,

that one bag of blood is a symbol that we are still one with the district in this project to

save lives. Hopefully, we will have more Rotarian donors in the future.

Of Inductions and Turn-over ceremonies.....

It is the last day of July. Finally and fortunately for

Area 2D, we survived the inductions and turn-over

ceremonies. The Ladies of RCTGL headed the induction

season with our ever glamorous PINK theme. This was

followed by RC Central Panabo. A few of us attended the

mother club, RCT, induction in their coat and golden-tie

affair. And very recently the RCTN induction which was

also attended by their Korean sister club.

Rotary is all about service and fellowship. Fellowship at its

best was actually felt during all of those events which was

also highlighted by glitz and glamour of the fashionista ro-

tarians. However despite us knowing how to party and rock

the runway and the dancefloor, we do always remember why

we joined rotary in the first place. The area project, “One

blood One Rotary” headed by the energetic and beauteous

Assistant Governor Tweet Malbog held at City Mall on July

2 7 , 2 0 1 9 w a s a h u g e s u c c e s s .

Cheers to Area 2D. Cheers to Rotary.

Five Avenues of Service

Reference: _https://rotary1.org/101-things-about-rotary/

For more than 100 years, Rotarians have joined

together from all continents, cultures and

industries to take action in our communities and

around the world. With a commitment to achieving

lasting change, we work together to empower youth,

enhance health, promote peace, and most important,

advance the community. While Rotarians can serve in

countless ways, Rotary has focused its efforts in

six areas, which reflect some of the most critical and

widespread humanitarian needs:

Peace and conflict prevention/resolution

Disease prevention and treatment

Water and sanitation

Maternal and child health

Basic education and literacy

Economic and community development

Rotarians planning new service projects are

encouraged to consider these areas and the many

opportunities for innovative projects. This publication

provides an introduction to each area, as well as

suggestions on how Rotarians and their service

partners can address these needs both locally and

international.

Rotary Area of Focus

“Club Service” involves focusing on strengthening

fellowship and ensuring the smooth functioning of

Rotary clubs. Learn about effective club service in

Membership and Training.

“Vocational Service” involves club members

serving others through their professions and

aspiring to high ethical standards. Rotarians, as

business leaders, share skills and expertise

through their vocations, and they inspire others in

the process.

“Community Service” is the opportunity Rotary

clubs have to implement club projects and

activities that improve life in the local community.

“International Service” encompasses efforts to

expand Rotary’s humanitarian reach around the

world and to promote world understanding and

peace. It includes everything from contributing to

Polio Plus to helping Rotary Youth Exchange

students adjust to their host countries.

5.“Youth Committee” is the Avenue that

recognizes the positive change implemented by

youth and young adults involved in leadership

development activities, community and

international service projects, and exchange

programs that enrich and foster world peace and

cultural understanding.

L.A.C.E.S. Songs— I Want It That Way by: Backstreet Boys

L.A.C.E.S. Quotes - John C. Maxwell

A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.

Yeah…

[Brain:]

You are my fire

The one desire Believe when I say

I want it that way

[Nick:]

But we are two worlds apart

Can't reach to your heart

When you say That I want it that way

[Chorus:]

Tell me why

Ain't nothin' but a heartache

Tell me why Ain't nothin' but a mistake

Tell me why

I never wanna hear you say

I want it that way

[AJ:] Am I your fire

Your one desire

Yes I know it's too late

But I want it that way

[Chorus:]

Tell me why Ain't nothin' but a heartache

Tell me why

Ain't nothin' but a mistake

Tell me why

I never wanna hear you say

I want it that way

[Kevin:]

Now I can see that we're falling apart

From the way that it used to be, yeah

No matter the distance

I want you to know

That deep down inside of me...

[Howie:] You are my fire

The one desire

You are

You are, you are, you are

Don't wanna hear you say

Ain't nothin' but a heartache Ain't nothin' but a mistake (don't wan-

na hear you say)

I never wanna hear you say (oh, yeah)

I want it that way

Tell me why Ain't nothin' but a heartache

Tell me why

Ain't nothin but a mistake

Tell me why
