LAW 5 – THE REFEREE

Responsibilities: a referee shall:• Beresponsiblefortheconductofthegameinaccordancewiththe

Laws of the Game as issued by the Federation Internationale deFootballAssociation(F.I.F.A.)andwiththelocalrulesandregulationsof the Pointe-Claire Amateur Soccer Association.

• Beattheassignedpitchnolaterthan15minutesbeforethesched-uled starting time.

• To instruct the linesmen (cluborneutral)on theprocedurehe/shewishesthemtofollow.

• Completethegamecardpriortothebeginningofthegameandhaveitsigned(i.e.not just initialled)bythetwocoachesafterthegame.Ensure that any violationsarenoted thereon.Submit score to thereferee coordinator immediately following thegameand thegamecard as soon as possible.

• Make an appropriate notation on the game card and immediatelyinformtherefereecoordinatorintheeventthatagameiscancelledorabandoned.Iftherefereeabandonsagame,he/sheshallindicateclearly whether or not at least onehalf of the regulation timehasbeenplayed.Therefereecoordinatorwill informthefixturessecre-tary,ifnecessary.
