Introduction• In Malaysia, research and studies done to develop problem
solving skills is still deficient• Most mathematics teachers realize that students face the
difficulties in solving mathematics problems particularly that involves sentences problem (Noor Shah, Nor'ain, Fainida, Muzirah, Norazian and Zamzana, n.d.)
• Many educators agreed that problem solving is the main important goal in mathematics education. (Kroll and Miller, 1993 in Johari and Yeong, 2002)
• Puzzle-based Learning is the basic approach to develop thinking skills and mental endurance in solving problem (Meyer III et al., 2014)
ObjectivesThis study sought:a) To explore the use of Puzzle-based Learning as an
introduction in developing problem solving skills among students in the Mathematics learning process.
b) To identify whether the exposure of Puzzle-based Learning to student is able to enhance the students’ motivation to solve problems that involves irregular problems in Mathematics.
c) To survey the student’s perception towards the Puzzle-based Learning in Mathematics.
