Pedro Palou is a Mexican writer, who was awarded the “Premio Nacional de Literatura Jorge Ibargüengoitia” and also “Xavier Villaurrutia Award” for his novel Con la muerte en los puños (2003). His last novel is La amante del Ghetto, in which he engages in a thrilling story of passion, surveillance and revenge in the post-‐war Europe. Along with Ignacio Padilla and Jorge Volpi, he is part of the so-‐called "Crack Movement". He holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from Colegio de Michoacán. Currently, Dr. Palou lectures Latin American Literature and Studies at Tufts University and he is the Director of the cultural magazine of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla.
