Did You Know?

After completing highschool, Mary had hopes of becoming a veterinarian which led her to apply for a job at the Peterborugh Humane Society.

Mary started out as a kennel attendant where she later became a shelter supervisor and then moved on to be our full-time front desk receptionist. She has always had a passion for animals and has adopted several of her own from our shelter over the years.

Mary Bye has been a cherished staff member of the PHS for 38 years and we can’t possibly thank her enough for all that she does day in and day out, within the walls of our shelter.

Thank you Mary for dedicating your life to help save the lives of animals in our community!

Mia, 9, gave back to our animal shelter this year through her annual doantion drive called “Mia’s Hope”.

Lydia, Jeremiah, Elisah, Evangeline & Elisabeth stopped by the PHS over the holidays to deliever home made treats to our staff and volunteers!

Ciara and Samantha gave their Grandma the gift of giving this past holiday. What a fantastic idea for a gift!

Save The DateSuccess Story

I just wanted to write to you to tell you how happy I am to have made the decision to adopt Indica from your shelter. I adopted her December 20th, 2001! She has been a huge part of my life for the last 12 years. Indica is a very intelligent, well behaved, gentle girl and I love her so much - oh and did I say adorable? because she is!

Indica has done so much in her 12 years from being in superdog shows, to competing in contests, being on t.v and she even saved my life. We will also be in a documentary promoting dog adoptions!

Anyways, thank you so much for bringing us together, we couldn’t be happier!
