NOTICES, REMINDERS, AND REQUESTS
DOG FOSTER PARENTS NEEDED - Below is a list of dogs who have been
waiting for a while for a permanent home, living at one of our kennels. While our
kennels are wonderful, these dogs could benefit from living in a home environment
to help them develop better social and home skills to make them even more
adoptable. Have you ever thought about opening your home to a dog who needs a
temporary home? Now is the time to make that thought a reality. Do you know
someone who would make a good foster parent? Put them in touch with PAW now.
The more foster homes we have, the more animals we can rescue. We have a
need for both short term (10-day Quarantine) and longer-term fosters. For information about what is involved
in fostering, go to https://paw-rescue.org/foster/ or contact Dave Campbell at [email protected].

DOG WALKERS NEEDED AT COLLEGE PARK
ANIMAL HOSPITAL - We’re still in need of new
volunteers to add to our walkers list! Training provided!
Each week, Lou sends out an e-mail asking for your
availability in the coming week. Most people volunteer
once or twice a week (and, depending on your schedule, not
even every week) for a short or long walk around the
neighborhood along with some cuddle and belly rub time. A
few minutes of your week will make a world of difference to
one of our dogs at the clinic - fresh air, sniffs, and some time
with you provide such a needed break in the day. How ‘bout
it? Contact Lou at [email protected] to find out more.

CRITICAL NEED OF FOSTER HOMES
TWO BONDED SENIORS
These seniors can only be rescued by PAW if we find a
foster home for them! Can you help save them?
This 14-year-old pair needs a foster home before we will take them. Fostering dogs like these is an exercise
in compassion on your part and dignity on theirs. They deserve to see out their days in a loving home. They
are sometimes a bit more work and mess, but they have learned all of the best charm tricks you cannot resist.
There is some kidney failure going on here that is under control. Give it a try. If you are interested in
fostering this pair, please contact Dave Campbell at [email protected].

HONEY is a 1 year old, 53 pound, pointer mix.
Honey has the perfect name because she’s sweet as
honey! She was found as a stray in the rural south,
taken to a shelter where she was vaccinated and
spayed, and quickly adopted by the young lady who
found her. Unfortunately, she couldn’t keep Honey
because of her living situation, so she gave Honey to
her parents, who also could not keep Honey because
one member of the family is severely allergic to
dogs! So poor Honey has been to four different
places in a month. Honey plays well with other dogs.
She lived with cats for a short while and seemed very
curious about them, but she was never allowed close
enough to them to confirm her intentions! So the
verdict is still out on how she is with cats. She is still
very puppy-like. She loves to jump on you and is still
very mouthy so would not do well in a home with
very young children. She is housetrained. If you are
interested in fostering HONEY, please contact Dave
Campbell at [email protected].
ROCKY, a PAW volunteer favorite, is a stunning
four-year-old treeing walker coonhound who weighs
about 70 pounds. Everyone who knows him is in love
with him! He’s an affectionate companion who
enjoys exploring trails, trotting down sidewalks, or
just sitting next to you on the ground cuddling. He
wriggles his behind and prances with his front paws
when he knows he’s going for a stroll. While out and
about, Rocky simply glances at the people and other
dogs along the way. Rocky relishes human
affection—he especially delights in ear massages.
Also, when you scratch his neck under his jaw, he
points his nose straight up to the sky and closes his
eyes. Rocky is house trained. Maybe seeing his
video will want you to give him a PAW foster try.

GUS is a 2-year-old, 80-pound, Great Dane mix.
He is quite affectionate and loves to be around
people! He does need to work on his leash manners
but is willing to learn! He is housetrained, having
come from a home previously. Gus does not do well
with other dogs so he will need to go to a home
without another dog (or cat). A nice backyard would
be great for Gus, or at least somewhere for him to be
able to walk without having to worry about being
around other pups. If you are interested in fostering
GUS, please contact Dave Campbell at dog-
GENEVA is a 5-year-old, 65-pound Treeing
Walker Coonhound. She is a very sweet girl who can
be a little timid at first. She does not know any
commands and needs to gain confidence. She loves
just being next to you but doesn't like other dogs
jumping on her or rough play. She is heartworm
positive and will be beginning treatment in the next
few weeks. It would really help to have her in a
foster home during treatment. If you would be
interested in fostering GENEVA, please contact
Tracy Crotty at [email protected].

ROXY is a 4 year old, 67-pound Labrador
Retriever/Akita mix. She is a sweet girl who likes
attention and giving kisses. She would be good with
kids over the age of 12 . She is still new to PAW and
we will update as we learn more. If you would be
interested in fostering ROXY, please contact Tracy
Crotty at [email protected]
MARTI is a 3-year-old, 68-pound Labrador
Retriever mix. Marti recently had a seizure at the
kennel, she is doing well, however would do better in
a home setting. She is a happy sweet girl who would
love nothing more to stay by your side and shower
you with doggie kisses. Her condition has stabilized,
and she is on meds to control the seizures. She
would not do well in an apartment. If you would be
interested in fostering MARTI, please contact Tracy
Crotty at [email protected]

QUEEN - Hi! I’m Queen, the sweetest pittie
around! I’m 2 years old and 48 pounds of love!
Although I'm 2, I still act like a puppy! I have a lot of
energy, looooove to play with doggy friends (and
don't always take "no" for an answer from other dogs;
I don't get why they don't always want to play- just
like meee!) and am still working on my house
manners. Sometimes you just have to chew on
things! I also really enjoy playing with humans and
haven't yet learned that they don't always like me to
play with my teeth... apparently, they think it hurts.
Bummer! For this reason, I'd do best in a home with
kids over the age of 12. If you are interested in
fostering QUEEN, please contact Dave Campbell
BROWNIE is a 5-year-old, 35-pound, lab/beagle
mix (or possibly whippet?) who has just arrived from
Puerto Rico. Brownie would do best in a home as the
only dog, as he can be dog-selective. He's also a bit
leery and nervous, now that he's in a brand new
place, and in the kennel, which can be very stressful.
As such, we think he'd do best in a home with adults
only or at least older teenagers (over 15). Brownie
will make a great companion; he just needs people
who will be patient with him and help him gain his
confidence back! If you are interested in fostering
BROWNIE, please contact Dave Campbell at dog-

SIMBA is a 1.5-year-old, 57-pound, Husky
mix. He is very sweet with people and other dogs
and has a TON of energy!! He wants to play play
play! Simba would definitely do best with a very
active person/family that loves to go hiking or for
runs daily. His previous shelter notes that he is very
affectionate, loves attention and to be petted. He
picks up on commands very quickly and is very
responsive to his name. If you are interested in
fostering SIMBA, please contact Dave Campbell
BERT is a 4 year old beagle who just came to
PAW. We are still learning about him, but that face
speaks volumes – he just wants to be loved. If you
are interested in fostering BERT, please contact Dave
Campbell at [email protected].

DIAMOND DOG DAYS
Thanks to Amy Bleich, Mike Simpson, and Zev for taking PAW dog, SCOBBY, to
Diamond Dog Days at the Bowie Baysox game. He was introduced to the crowd
and appeared on the Jumbotron. This handsome guy got lots of attention. Is there a
forever home in his immediate future?
