Once upon a time in a faraway land there lived two twin sisters. One called Paula whom was blonde, smart, brave, friendly sporty unlike her sister Paulie. Paulie was totally different to her she was ugly, fat, selfish, weak, and mean. Everyday Paula does all the housework while Pau-

lie sits and complains. She would force Paulie to do everything such as get water from the well every evening. She would cry herself to sleep every night, hoping one day her life would be better. Hoping a miracle could happen. A life without

her sister forcing her to do things would be a normal life.

The twins’ lives was very miserable, they had to live with their grandmother who was very sick, sick as if she could die any second. Even though she was sick, she would scream at the twins to do the housework. They earned very little money every week. Their mother left them with granny when they were 3 years old because she had a mental breakdown, and their father died before they were born.

They had their daily routine, which had never changed. One day Paulie decided that she should change her life.

One fine day Paulie decided to visit the fortune teller. She found a tent in the middle of the forest. The tent looked plain and boring but when she stepped in the tent, the tent was full of life. There were magical objects hanging every-where, there were animals running around and the walls were decorated with a wallpaper of old fortune tellers. There a table sitting in the middle of the room and on the table was a crystal ball which was as clear as ice, and an old lady sitting hunched and peering into the crys-tal ball. Suddenly her head twitched and then she stared directly at Paulie. Paulie was surprised so all that came out of her mouth was “umm……” the old lady asked with such a creaky voice that she seemed 1000 years old, “Fortune, do you want to know your fortune?” Paulie was pretty scared but replied in a whimper “yes i do”. The old lady peered closely at Pau-lie. The old lady said come closer Paulie, stepped forward legs shaking. The old lady chanted a spell which went some-thing like “ bibly bobby boo bibly boby boo shaka chiki saka ciki homa una hiki hiki boo too suo! There was a boom! Pau-lie jumped back with frightness taking

over her body. She thought it was done but no, the old lady kept going shouting the spell chanting “ crystal ball let the power, to see the future and past enter you and embrace you, so mote it be”! Paulie got tired of waiting for her to fin-ish her spell. After she finished she stared straight at Paulie. A wave of fear shivered throughout her body. She did a big gulp that felt like swallowing a rock. The old lady stared for about 5 minutes then she told Paulie in a croaky voice, “if you don't work and change who you are, you will become a dragon”. Paulie was frightened.

Even after visiting the fortune teller, Pau-lie was still bad, she was always stealing and bullying people. For example, if she sees an old man or a child, she would hurt them. She would steal the kid's ice cream and make him cry or she would steal the old man's wallet and kick him and make him hurt his back for days. Every hour, she would need to go smoke a pack of cigarettes. On one occasion, she ran out of cigarettes so she barged in to 7-eleven and stole 5 boxes of the most precious and expensive cigarettes. After a pleasant day for Paulie and Paulie only, she would go to a bar and drink 20-30 bottles of cocorroco, the strongest alco-hol available. She would become very drunk and smash shop windows, car win-dows and other glass objects. Some-times, she would come across a car like a

Ferrari or Lamborghini and steal it, rid-ing it around and crashing, bashing into other cars, shops or pedestrians.

The next morning, she would wake up and have breakfast, stolen from a restau-rant, then she would take a walk around her house. Sometimes, she would see a Ferrari or Lamborghini parked in her ga-rage, she would be very surprised not knowing how it got there, this would be very dangerous. She often would see an expensive item in her house and forget of how it came to her house. This be-haviour is very bad, it can actually cause lots of trouble.

Since Paula was still a gruesome, ugly, selfish, oaf, the prophecy became true.. At nightfall she would turn into a pink dragon with small spots of green, she would drool all over the place, she'd have flabs of blubber all over her body parts, and every time she opens her mouth to yawn or to roar an amber light would run upwards along her throat as if it was translucent. Her claws were long but blunt, she had two twigs of hair when she'd smile there would be exactly 5 teeth. Her wings were only 2 inches long per each side. Her neck was covered with

purple hair from the bottom of the ears, to the shoulder blades but not yet reach-ing her shoulders, she was humanoid from the waist down therefore she'd al-ways be unbalanced and falling because she didn't have a tail.

When she'd make a face that no one would know if it was a grin or a grimace. She was a pariah and a disgrace to her-self and her parents that had left since childbirth.

She flew out of the house and flew to the nearest city, and unfortunately, it was the largest city of all, The Golden city. She would take all the time she had to check if there were any survivors, she'd make sure that everything had turned to ash, even the shadows, even the dogs, even the birds, everything! She’d make sure that the city was totally demolished. The thing that was weird about Paulie was that she was a fire-breathing dragon but yet she loved the cold, she would do anything to crave that coolness she needed. She's strike the most in winter. She was a stupid dragon, she hadn't real-ized that the more she blew out fire the more heat she'd cause that was why she always have to turn things to ash, be-cause ash gives out two or three seconds of coolness. Think about it, all for 2 or 3 seconds another town would be de-stroyed. Is it worth it?

The dragon flew away from the city with satisfaction, it had sent the city into obliv-ion. It flew gracefully, arrogantly and smoothly through the skies, trying to lo-cate another hunting ground. Though it had got rid of everything in the city, there was a puny rebellion that actually weakened the dragon, opening a spot in its armour-like skin. There was not even light in the spot, it was still darkness and death like the outer shell, there was no evidence of Pauly anymore.

The news came by to Paula, who immedi-ately broke into a state of shock, horri-fied by what her own sister had done and become. She had to do something before her own sister became an even worse beast and terrorize her own city. Paula was determined to defeat her long lost sister.

She went to the armoury and asked for a custom-made suit that could withstand the dragon’s fire and bite. She hoped that the suit will protect her and not fail her. After that, she went to the black-smith and had iron swords made for her,

she asked for ones that could penetrate the dragon’s rough skin. She also needed the help of someone she could trust.

She put posters up all over the town and explained about the dragon and the dev-astation of the Golden city, to her disap-pointment, no one seemed to believe her even though it was real. She knew there was no option but to travel alone. So at night, she packed her bags and prepared for the long journey ahead and the pain she was going to face.

She woke up early in the morning while the sun was still dimly glowing red like a perfectly round ball, the clouds flowing along in the skies and the fresh grass still green and beautiful, what an amazing sight, it was a total contrast to the dan-gers and events that were to come. She walked quickly past the long fields and houses, never looking back and seeming confident. After around 4 hours of non stop hardcore walking, she paused to rest just outside a cave that she pre-dicted would contain the dragon. As she rested, she heard a ferocious roar com-ing from the cave, this made her feel un-

easy, she had the feeling that death would come.

She stepped closer and closer to the light, making sure she didn’t make a sound, she didn’t want to get caught. The sound of her breathing became louder and quicker, showing signs of fear, she wanted to turn back and leave. “I’ve come too far, I must finish what i’m here for.” She was about to confront the dragon, her own sister. As she stepped again, slowly, an acrid smell slowly rose to her nose, she knew it was smoke and knew for sure that this was the dragon’s lair. Now, it was up to her courage and bravery to help her. She rounded the cor-ner and saw…

A blast of fire shot towards her, she was so frightened and careless that the fire burnt her clothes. The dragon knew she was there and was prepared, she wasn’t ready so she was hit by fire. She could’ve easily died if it wasn’t for her sword that clanked to the floor as she reared out in shock and pain from the blast, she looked down for a brief moment and picked up the sword in a flash. She charged towards the dragon pointing her sword, hoping to impale the sword into the dragon’s flesh. But instead, it bent

into a shape not recognisable, she heard the dragon roar as if it was actually laugh-ing and cackling, it sounded like her own sister. She drew her other sword and held it up in time just as the dragon was ramming into her, just what she needed, another impact that knocked the breath out of her. The sword was snatched away from her hand but when she looked up, it was inside the dragon’s head, the dragon was leaping around and wailing like a baby, she blurted out “You look like a baby!” This made the situation worse, the dragon stopped suddenly and turned its head towards her, she could smell the smoky, horrid stench of the dragon’s mouth and recognised the smell her sis-ter used to have, she didn’t want to die. But it was time, she could see the flames and feel the heat building inside the dragon, it rushed up through the dragon’s stomach, up the throat and into the mouth. She could only see death in an dark orange form, the worst scene to witness before death, “Please Paulie, I know you’re there!” Paula screamed her last words, and before anything the flames shot out…

“Why didn’t we help her?” Paula’s mother sobbed, she regretted laughing

when Paula came to ask her for help for the trip. Everyone was crying and wail-ing, Paula was a very well respected per-son in the city, life wouldn’t be great without her cheering up others. She was kind, happy and funny. The whole city was in grief, they just lost a great person, a great role-model, what could the city do? And then, they all heard an all too fa-miliar roar, as the dragon appeared from above, everyone stood frozen to their spot, to scared to move. The dragon un-leashed a stream of deadly flames...
