Patron Opportunities
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are Burnley FC in the Community (BFCitC); the award-winning, official charity of Burnley Football Club.
We believe in the immense power of our football club to transform people’s lives for the better. We work hard every day to deliver our mission to inspire,
support and deliver change to communities across Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale, the Ribble Valley and West Yorkshire.
Our work is channelled into five key areas: Sport, Education, Health, Social Inclusion and Community Facilities. Our highly-skilled, dynamic and
passionate team now deliver over 50 community projects that touch the lives of a huge spectrum of people in and around Burnley. From children and
young people right through to senior citizens.
Though we are embedded within the ethos of Burnley FC, we are financially independent from the football club. We rely on fundraising activities,
donations, sponsorships and grants to do the work we do and every penny we raise goes to developing new opportunities for those who need it most.
Outlined below are our key projects that we require partnership investment for over the next year.
Although not extensive, we believe these projects are the ones best suited to you as an organisation and ones that we could for a meaningful partnership.
SUPPORT YOUR COMMUNITY – BECOME A PATRON
There are many benefits to becoming a Patron of Burnley FC in the Community.
The investment level is tiered (Gold/Platinum) depending on the size of the programme, level of engagement and funding required.
We hope your business understands the importance of partnership working and will support us on our mission to inspire, support and deliver positive
change to all.

SCHOOLS MENTAL WELLBEING PROJECT
Burnley FC in the Community’s Schools’ Mental Wellbeing Project is a three-year funded project that is
being delivered in seven high schools within Burnley and Pendle.
Supported by the Premier League, the PFA, Burnley Borough Council, East Lancashire CCG and all the
schools involved, the aim of the project is to support young people with their mental wellbeing by having
a full time BFCitC Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) in each of the seven schools.
The BFCitC staff members support students identified as needing help with their mental wellbeing, by
offering a range of interventions in both one-to-one and group settings. The PWPs also help raise
awareness of mental health within their respective schools, educating parents, students and teachers
alike to make the school ‘a mentally healthy school’.
We need an investment of £20k per annum to complete the funding package needed.
PATRONS
PREMIER LEAGUE PRIMARY STARS
Premier League Primary Stars is the league’s most ambitious project to date. It uses the appeal of the
league and professional football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life
skills, with a view of supporting the development of children holistically and wholesomely.
The programme seeks to connect learning to the real world of sport, helping teachers to enthuse pupils
when tackling challenging PSHE topics such as resilience, diversity, self-esteem and fair play.
Current Premier League funding allows a heavily discounted package to be offered to around 30
schools in the local area – but the demand is there for more.
We are looking for an additional £20K of funding per annum to continue to grow and expand our in
school offer.
With high engagement levels and in school presence, this is a fantastic opportunity for a company
wanting to engage schools and support children.
PATRONS
PREMIER LEAGUE INSPIRES
PL Inspires is the all-encompassing name for the suite of Alternative Provision and Employability
programmes delivered by Burnley FC in the Community.
Whether that is our ‘Positive Goals’ provision, designed for those struggling in main stream
secondary education, our popular Enterprise programme or our Turf Works, Moor Life Skills or
Journey to Work employability programmes aimed at adults; all are designed as inspirational offers
that will engage hard to reach groups/individuals and raise aspirations.
Partner funding of £20k per annum is needed to supplement the funding mix already in place.
CLARETS WELCOME
Our group currently comprises of multiple young men who have settled in Burnley and East
Lancashire after becoming displaced from Syria due to the ongoing conflict there. However, we are
encouraging participation from any individuals or families that may be new to the Burnley and East
Lancashire area.
At the free football sessions participants get the chance to develop skills, be part of a team and,
most importantly, enjoy football in a welcoming environment.
We want to develop the project further to incorporate the wider family circle and a range of activities
and in order to do so we are looking for an investment of £10k per annum.

PREMIER LEAGUE KICKS – TARGETED
Part of the Premier League part funded projects, PL Kicks is a programme designed to engage young
people in positive physical activity and sport.
Sessions take place in communities which need them the most and are designed to have an impact on
social issues, breakdown barriers to participation and help with reducing crime and anti-social behavior
levels.
Burnley FC in the Community deliver up to 18 sessions per week across various venues, including Turf
Moor, the Leisure Box, community settings and MUGA pitches across East Lancashire.
We need a partner to invest circa £10k per annum to complete the funding mix, work in partnership
with us to promote and grow the programme as well as receive brand alignment with a national
Premier League programme.
ACTIVE CLARETS
Active Clarets is the brand given to our portfolio of health and wellbeing interventions.
East Lancashire has an array of health issues that need addressing and we work closely with the CCG
to identify and design programmes that can help reduce the stress on the health service and help people
to lead fitter, healthier, fuller lives.
Targeted programmes include specific mens, womens and family health programmes, combining healthy
eating advice with physical activity sessions; Over 50’s social sessions to reduce social isoloation;
walking football teams for those that need a slower paced game and targeted armed forces veterans'
sessions to reintegrate, improve physical and mental wellbeing.
We are looking for a partner to invest £20k per annum as a Patron to allow for the continued
employment of our health and wellbeing worker, which will allow all provision to be offered free of charge.

.COMMUNITY KITCHEN
The Burnley Community Kitchen is located at Unit 83 in the Upper Market Square of Charter Walk Shopping Centre
in the heart of Burnley town centre.
The interior was developed from scratch thanks to hard work by BFCitC staff, kind donations from multiple partners
and voluntary work from Friends of BFCitC businesses.
The Community Kitchen includes a foodbank, a community café, a teaching kitchen, a meeting space and an
internet café and aims to deliver positive change for people in the town, using food as the catalyst.
The foodbank element of the facility, set-up in a supermarket-style layout, offers the dignity of choice to users and is
