In Worship Today Our Bible Readings for our Worship Services are from the Good News Translation Bible and are as follow:
For the 9am worship service, they are Psalm 23 and Ephesians 4:1 – 6 . The gospel reading is Luke 15:1 – 7 .
For the 10.30am worship service, the bible readings are the same as the 3 readings from the 9am worship service, and are read in various languages with English translations on-screen.
The theme and message for both worship services is “We are family, we are one” and is based on Ephesians 4:1-6.
As I look around this morning on this Multicultural Sunday, it’s wonderful to see such a diversity of people: people whose country of origin is China, or Korea, or Japan, or South Sudan, Australia, and so on…. We are different in so many ways: in our racial backgrounds, in our cultures, in our languages and much more….
And yet we are one family in the Lord Jesus…. As we sang in the song before the message:
We are heirs of the Father;
we are joint-heirs with the Son;
we are children of the kingdom,
we are family, we are one (SLH #805).
We who trust in Jesus as our Saviour all belong to one Christian family, one body, no matter which church we go to, or what country we come from, or what language we speak, because we have:
One Spirit who unites us
One Lord and Saviour in whom we all trust
One Father who is taking care of us
Children’s Message: “We are
family….”
We will be returning
for Term 4 next week!
