Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Receives Honorary Doctorate

There was joy and celebration yesterday at the Ambrose Alli University (AAU) in Ekpoma, Edo State as one of its most eminent alumni returned to receive an honorary doctorate. Renowned pastor, teacher and televangelist Chris Oyakhilome was honored with a Doctor of Science (honoriscausa) by the university’s vice-chancellor for his extensive philanthropic undertakings through his foundation.

in taking a message of hope to the corners of the globe. The setting for this big day was the LoveWorld Multipurpose Hall whose construction was funded by Pastor Chris’ foundation. There was a raft of dignitaries present to witness the occasion, including a number of governors and ex-governors from across Nigeria. Chancellors, vice-chancellors and pro-chancellors of universities in other parts of the country were also in the house, as were AAU officials and students.

Christ Embassy International

The pastor award is a true testament to how far dedication and hard work can take a person in life. Pastor Chris founded Believers LoveWorld, also known as Christ Embassy International, while still a student in AAU. Back then the institution went by the name Bendel State University.

Having received the degree, Pastor Chris thanked the university and its leadership for the honor and assured it of his continued partnership with them. Besides building the LoveWorld Multipurpose Hall and equipping it with a backup generator, the pastor, through his foundation, installed 95 solar-powered street lights in the campus.
